Apparently they have to stay in Perth tonight so they don't start their proper rehab until Monday after chasing arse all over Suby. We should be fresh and firing with an extra 2 days to get bodies right.

8+ gl win for the Blueboys.

No doubt they will be fired up next week after their pitiful performance against the Frockers........just like they bounced back against Hawthorn following their spanking from the Crows.

A positive is that the Hawks are now still a finals chance and will have incentive to beat Adelaide on Fri night.
Go the Hawks - I want 6th spot and a home final!

If we play like we did against Geelong we will easily beat this mob even at AAMI.
Play like we did the previous week against North Melbourne and they will beat us by 6-8 goals.

Maybe I am just being a pessimist but I don't think we will win. We haven't shown we can come out with victories after big wins yet. This would be a massive step forward to beat Port, who as piss weak as they have been against Freo, we know they will fire up again at home.

If we do win, a home final is almost certain. If we lose, well lets hope we play the Doggies.

Yeah Nah, I hope we get Essendon* first up. We OWE those smug pricks big time.

A big game this week for a number of reasons. Firstly it guarantees us a spot in the finals and lets us push for a home final.

Secondly, we are playing a finals aspirant and a team near us but below us on the ladder. As we improve, we need to win these kinds of games. Playing against the teams going for the finals is great. Both teams have a lot to play for and gives us some quality games to lead in to the finals with.

Moreover, if we want to go somewhere in September, we need to do so coming in with some form. We are starting to do this. We have one 4 out of the last 5, and even though some of them weren't emphatic wins, or particularly confidence inspiring, we did win and won when not playing at our best (how long has it been since we've done that!) We did play very well against the Cats, and if we can keep that kind of intensity and form going over the next few weeks, we will probably get a home final and give ourselves a real chance of winning a final or two.

We have matched up well with Port recently and have a nice little rivalry going with the Fev-Chaddles thing.

I would probably only make one change for this week. In: Jamo or Austin. Out: Wiggins. We might need the extra tall down back. The only other out this week I want to see is Port - out of the 8.

Not sure that a home final is almost certain if we win.....I think 6th spot might come down to our Rd22 clash with Adelaide. Hopefully the Hawks do us a favour and beat the Crows on Fri night.
But yes if we end up coming 7th I hope we play the Dogs in Melbourne and don't have to travel interstate.

One thing is certain...if we win our last 3 games we will get a home final and best case scenario finish in the top four. We have come this far now and put ourselves in a position to make the most of this opportunity....every week now is a final for us....we must take this chance by the scruff of the neck and make it count....

Righto, The "good" Port will come out this week, but I think if we play to our best, we'll smash 'em.

The Port ferals are struggling with crowd numbers, so with the usual strong Blue contingent we'll make some noise.

Win this, and with Melbourne & the Cows to go, we can really set ourselves up !!

Carlton by 62 points !!

And don't forget the Blues are training at the magnificent Glenelg Oval on Saturday !

Well after watching port today, you get the feeling that we would smash them. They have some serious issues there and if we are going to be true finals contenders we need to find a way to exploit their weaknesses. Blues by over 40points.

This is a danger match for us, IMO, as is the one against Melbourne.

If the guys show any signs of complacency, we're screwed.

Intensity is the key, we know we have the skills to smash these losers.

if we are serious - we will absolutely smash these flowers

the belief garnered from the win over the cats should not be under estimated

I seriously pray that we Finish 5th and Port get into the 8 so we can play them in Melbourne in the First week of the Finals. They are the biggest Joke in the History of this Game when playing away from Home...

The effort they put in against Melbourne few weeks a go was laughable. In Fact, they don't deserve to be in the 8.... only an easy Draw might save them.....

Lets push for a Home Final... its a real possibility and in our hands....

Port will probably show some heroics next week and might even beat us and bounce back but it will not save them their horrible reputation of being a Joke of a Side. Even their coach admitted it today

Let's see if we can extend our record winning streak over Port (standing at 2!)

I agree with you, except that Port are the second biggest joke "away" team. That honour would have to be Freo's, by a long stretch.

Bugger 6th. If we win every game, we'll either finish 4th or 5th. The Dogs are gone.

You haven't read the script Sjbac, apparently we are going to be bent over by the might of the Power, you know, they will win because they "have to" to make finals. Port were awesome against Dawks, and Dawks showed how red hot that form was by losing to Casey Scorpions on Saturday. Oh sorry, forgot they had pushed Catters the week before. Catters, yep, we can't compete with that mob.

We have zippo to play for, too.

Please Choco, go easy on us!!!

*Resuming foetal position*

Carlton by 69 pts.

Port were absolutely dreadful yesterday against Freo. No run, no chasing, terrible foot skills.

Chad Cornes was getting routinely routed by all & sundry. Particularly pleasing was Headland lairing it up around whilst playing his standard single brilliant game for the year so as to ensure he is kept on the list for the subsequent year.

From a distance youd think Port could have some pace a la Essendon* to worry us but they looked slow and disinterested. Carlton by 47 points.

The Dogs have upped their training load, like the Saints and the Cats.
