I am absolutely appalled that both Synbad and Melvey have not had thier say yet .... WTF :?:

What does this say about them :?: They only enjoy when Carlton losses :?:

Does it erk them to come on and say "Excellent effort boys ... even Ratts pulled a good game"

Have agreed with some of thier comments and viewed it with a grain of salt and as constructive critisism.

But the fact that they are always on here and have thier say when we win ugly or lose and now cannot say anything after a great win clearly speaks volumes.

Get on here and praise our boys otherwise ur just a pair of flowering trolls!

Wont cover what has already been said but...

Pro:
When they put the cricket score on the screen at half time
Shutting up the people who were saying how we'll fall into the finals :donk:

Con:
55,000 is a decent crowd but we fell short of being the first club to reach 1,000,000 this season.

The Cats looked pretty fussed after the game in the changing room. You don't win 60/64 games by not being "fussed if you lose"
Sorry spelling police.(BTW It`s)
All I`m saying is as far as their finals campaign goes, they probably would`t be that upset, with a heap of players out and some only just returning. St Kilda are doing much the same today. Call it match management.
Geelong will still be right up there when it counts.

Touche.

It just irks me when Carlton supporters try to diminish a great win. It's  usually Bummer or Filth supporters doing that for us. A heap of players out being Scarlett, Taylor, Chapman and ottens(who hasnt played all year) as opposed to Jamison, Austin, Waite and Warnock(who hasnt played all year)

Their midfield was intact and that's where we smashed them.

Enjoy the win or not. It's up to you. But I'm not making any excuses for Geelong.

BTW Go to their 150th anniversary tonight and tell me if they are upset or not.

If the whole team does this and can maintain it four quarters you will win more then you lose in the modern game. Pressure = turnovers = opportunities.

Not only that .... we WILL win a final if we play like we did tonight ... and that in my book will be a super season!

I'm not in Oz at the moment, and won't see the game for another week. That's ok... I'll put up the generic pros and cons that seem to accompany every win or loss on this site

Pro:
Judd - where would we be without him?
Fev - one man forward line... where would we be without him?
Gibbs
Murphy
Simmo
Krooz

Cons:
Ratten
Ratten - doesn't have a gameplan
Jordan Russell
Mitch Robinson. Too young, too inexperienced, can't figure out the gameplan
Playing the wings instead of the corridors
Fev - why does he kick points? Oh... cause we play the wings. No gameplan.
Sticks - doesn't know the gameplan
Wiggins - never going anywhere with him in the side
Cloke - well he must be a con somehow

Well done on the win Bloueboys! YOU BEAUTY!!! September here we come

Very proud of the CFC and the players- fantastic effort. And we get to enjoy September again, mmmmmm............. :thanks:

I haven't been on for a while because I was so sick of the negativity of two posters who "shall not be named"..............

Buzzaaah,of course i`m wrapped with the win.I just think that if that game was a Final,Geelong would have prepared much better.
Their outs were probably a bit more proven than ours but i take your point regarding the midfield.

Pro-

No matter what anyone opposition supporter says about our draw or our draft picks a win against Geelong means we deserve to play finals, on our own merit.

Probably our best and most important win this century.
Since the break we have lacked intensity but last night showed what we can do when we are ferocious
Like Hammer, he is developing well and his ruck technique is excellent.
Great to see Hadley going so well I have been critical of his disposal and lack of pace and was concerned that he couldn't get a game when we were screaming out for in and unders, maybe when the teams intensity is up his lack of pace is less exposed because the other side is under team pressure.

JR - never quite understood why he is such a whipping boy. I think he has developed slowly, but has kept improving. Started his career looking very overawed which is understandable but is a guy I hope keeps improving. Last night should give him huge confidence.
Side finally looks settled with Grigg, Jamo and Austin the only probable inclusions unless there are injuries, and Jamo may be gone for the year and the other two need to find a vacancy which doesn't exist at the moment which is great.
I'd expect similar efforts for the rest of the year as no-one will want to lose their spot
Pleased to see Setanta still improving and when he is one on one is dangerous due to height and agility - surely he has put himself inline for a two year contract (that seemed a long way away in March)
Lastly - Ratts is a misunderstood genius isn't he ! I've been a critic but he got the team playing with max intensity and we are running and handballing instead of standing still and kicking to the boundary. Let's hope we see more of this to the end of the year
As a fortunate veteran supporter who has seen all the great times I can't believe how excited I am to be heading for the finals, and with some momentum. Be good if we have a home final first up, and HAwthorn and C'wood have to play, get the Woods out of the finals first week.

As an unabashed Armfield sceptic, I should stick my head up here and say he was a pro last night.

2 kicks 12 handballs is pretty much the ratio his stats line should be looking like every week, and if he sticks to that hopefully over time he develops his foot skills. I still think that development should be in the Bullants, but he played within his skill set last night which was good.

Setanta's overhead marking has come on in leaps and bounds. And his presence of mind when the ball hits the deck is outstanding.
In fact, we suddenly have a collection of smart footballers, who move the ball on and to advantage at all times with clever slaps and swots. We back teammates to beat their opposition by putting the ball in space when there's no other option. It's a sign of confidence, because footballers are taught to do the 1%ers. Win the ball. Hold it. Force a stoppage. Start again. But when on song we don't do that. We move the ball on by hand, by foot, off the ground, with a tap... It's a high-intensity gameplan based on confidence and skill and I like it.

Pros

great pressure
JR - continues to develop and surprise and what a pleasant change to see him keeping his feet
Setanta - shades of earl Spalding in just offering a contest
Seeing Cameron Ling run into the ground by Judd

Cons
kicking on top of Eddies head when he's playing on one of the best CHB
Failure to kick to Setanta and allow eddie to crumb
Our disposal is still below par
