GO BLUE BOYS!!!

Psssssst! Melvey's been banned

Let's not hang crap on the negative Nellies just now. They had (have?) concerns and are entitled to express them. Sometimes maybe they just don't know when to give ground, or give up.

Let's just bask in the best win we've had for a while, and dare to dream a bit.

We're all Carlton here, remember.....

F%^& the rest!

Oh I agree... and I had some concerns previously too but that game has given me a lot of hope that were on the right track...

Think we may have grown a feet taller after that performance, we'll get a HEAP of confidence out of that come september!

Welcome to the finals!

just on the game plan stuff

it seems to me often its our experienced players the scotlands, the t-birds, the carrots that often play out wide where the young kids, the Bowers, the Armfields, the AJ's
run through the middle. It may just be the experienced guys have a few scars (getting belted week after week just might do that to ya) but wins like last night are the best remedy. The scotlands (etc) will learn to trust the kids more and more and then lookout!!!!

A bit of common sense here. Dont get 2 carried away guys. Got to back it up next week.

Can't agree more. Last night's win will be for almost nothing if we put in a pissweak performance next week.

Agreed it will be a big mental step for us if we can back this performance up and maintain the intensity and defensive pressure next week.

I aoplogise for my negative stance, I predicted the cats would maul us.

I need some therapy because I think the last 7 years have taken its toll on me as a Blueboy. But I was as proud as punch last night. Flowering awesome! :smoking:

We still went wide a fair bit Dannyboy and it is a legitimate tactic that works, but we still need to use the corridor more when the opposition allow us to. I think we were closer to getting the balance between the two right last night. There isn't a team in the league that only plays the corridor or just goes wide.

Totally agree about the mental scars.

Just in case you hadn't mentioned it...you picked this

We were the underdogs...no ifs and no buts.

We won because we played harder longer
We won because we played a team game
We won because we didn't allow them to play their game

We won fair and square. I am so proud of the kids.

As for missing/ underdone players argument:

Ottens in the ruck....we had Warnock missing in the ruck
Scarlett at FB.........we had Waite missing at CHB (anyway, Fev does well on Scarlett)
Chapman fwd..........we had Walker in the backline getting game time under his belt

Underdone Johnson...we had Setanta playing who has been hampered with injury

Remember they are a seasoned team with strong mature bodies and we were the kids having a red hot go.

We ran them off their feet. We should have won given

Judd>>>>>>>>>>>Ablett
Gibbs>>>>>>>>>>Selwood
Murphy>>>>>>>>>Bartel
Thornton>>>>>>>>Hawkins
Bower>>>>>>>>>>Mooney

etcetera.

No beg your pardons here. We deserved that win because we played to win.

We are a final contender. Imagine if we had've beated Saints, Hawks, Swans, Freo and Bumbers in those close games when we were in a position to do so. We would be known as the 2nd best team in the 2009 comp. Oh well that's kids for you.

We all know they're coming

Noticed in the Age that Michael Gleeson couldn't find a spot for AJ in last nights best players (How did Ablett go :?: ) Robbo (HUN) had him in the best players

I also remember that he couldn't find a spot for AJ in the best players against the Saints when he received the nomination for the NRS.

I guess he has a set against the boy

You can add Jamison to that list...

Is it any wonder we get frustrated with this mob. We bring our A-game against Geelong and the Aints, attack and play without fear, yet dish up shite against trash like Essendon*, Collingwood and close wins over bottom-dwellers. Is it the message they're sent before the game, or their own natural preparation to be 'careful' against the crap?

Essendon* & Collingwood line ups had a bit more toe/pace than on the night. We struggle a little against pace. We need to recruit a bit more speed

Which would be true if his family hadn't Anglicized it to Cruiser...

I'm sure that's right it's just that 'Kruez' is quite common here and that is how they pronounce it in DE.

What an awsome win was in a Corp box last night with a Pro Carlton clan of people was just a great win

We stayed back awhile after the game singing the song and drinking crownies

Great effort by the boys led at every quarter was one passage i think in the 3rd quarter will have to watch the replay again but i think was in the 3rd where we punched out around 7-10 perfect handballs in the forward line which i think ended up in a goal was one of the best sequences of play that i have seen in recent times

The team is definately gaining confidence from recent win good or ugly.. winning breeds confidence

Well done Ratts well done to a great team effort

Good to see Ratts gain some credit and even more to see all the negative doomsayers absent or quiet for a change

Go Blues
