Loved JR's backheel effort in the D50, which set up a nice rebounding effort.

JR...................wow. A revelation.

Those marks he took in defence were just superb. Hardly put a foot wrong all night. He and Thornton were just gold all night.

..game of his career, and not just for his great work on an admittedly underdone stevie.j, he was solid, and daring all night.. ..good work..

have long held the opinion, that JR is a "head right" player.

he has the skill level
he has the physical attributes
he has the hunger

he just needs to believe in himself and i reckon he will turn into a gun for us :)

hopefully a game like this ( i dont think he has been that bad this year) will see the trigger in himself switched and he starts to believe in himself.

great game JR :)

Good game tonight.

Do it again next week JR.

I reckon the form improvement in JR recently and the good performance of Stevens in the last two weeks are a direct result of being dropped. Even Scotland played a lot better tonight. The message is clear that no one is safe if you do not perform (and rightly so)....and with finals around the corner I'm expecting every player to be switched on as September approaches....

Where's Jars? And Synbad, you wanted his role in the side defined.....to me it looked like he took the opposition's best forward and was needed for a few kick outs as well......is that good enough for you?

Very good game by JR, very good

But shouldn't overlook the fact that Johnson was injured and really shouldn't have played. Still, you can only do your job, and he did that very well indeed.

Tonight JR believed in himself and he took the time to assess a situation and THINK. His decision making was excellent tonight.

Maybe his performance last night silenced his critics on TC.

Wow he was good last night. Very happy for the much maligned young man.

Nice one JR. I have always respected his efforts but last night was a beauty. Looking forward to us sponsoring him again next year!

credit where due, a great game by JR. I noticed for the first time what a solid unit he is. massive centre core/waist. he really has the size to be a power-hitting flanker imo. loved his marking and run out of defence last night.

the trick for the MC is to get him to keep his confidence up and keep going!

Great game by JR

The kid was also a little bit unlucky to be sponsored by an internet forum. Humans are curious by nature and I'm sure he has had a look at who sponsers him. It wouldn't have been good reading for a bloke with a nervous disposition

lets not get too excited .... but I feel so happy for JR ... I have been a critic in the past but also acknowledged that the guy just needed a rocket in his pocket and a shot in the arm.

Dropping him gave him the rocket and hopefully tonight gve h im the shot in the arm.

Time will tell.

But like all true carltonians we all hope he turns into a gun and wins 5 browlows.

Just like any player who puts on the navy blue jumper!
