What a sensational win

Yes the Cats had a few out. Yes the Cats looked a little flat.

Gee we were good though! Hard at the contest, hard at the man. Finally got reward for effort in the last. Fair margin in the end I think...

Yes we have been up and down the last few weeks but after the Hawks knock off the Saints tomorrow we will have the equal best form in the competition.

Are we coming? Perhaps. Couple more wins and a home final and look out!!!!

Well Well

Last week some people were chatting about leaving out Kruezer and Joseph, as the needed a rest and hey Geelong were going to pump.

You all were wrong. You should all take a good look at yourselves.

This is a real Carlton team.

Lets get behind the boys and who knows how far we can go.

Great game from the boys. The key now is to keep playing to this kind of intensity and get some consistency going. Consistency is what separates the top sides from the bottom sides.

Lets hope we achieve this sooner rather than later. Very proud of the boys tonight. Very very proud.

And a special mention must go to JR. He played a great game tonight and kept Johnson quiet all night. I don't care if he was injured or not, if he was in the team, he was fit to play. Well done JR.

No, I think it's very valid. I think if we only scraped in against the dees in a few weeks we'd have every right to be disappointed.
You know what, have a look at the difference between the team singing the song the past few wins compared to tonight. Other weeks the PLAYERS know they've played ordinary and got the points. Tonight they played how i think they're being trained to play and got a great win out of it.

Great win. Well played all. With a bit more composure, that result would never have been in doubt.

And great leadership by Gibbs I thought. Took the game by the scruff on the neck right from the first bouce and looked spent by midway through the 3rd I thought.

Did Ablett get sh#t or is he just lazy? I can't tell anymore.

Solid effort. Sure there were decision making errors and fluffed chances but they kept pressuring and didn't drop their head (save for the odd kick-out).

Russell was fantastic as a stand-in defender, ditto Houlihan.

I remain critical of Robinson's impact at this point in the season but he always goes when it's his turn.

Was surprised how well the defence held up without the third tall, but I suspect we won't be able to do that too often for the rest of the season, which goes for at least 23 rounds now. :D

Is it any wonder we get frustrated with this mob. We bring our A-game against Geelong and the Aints, attack and play without fear, yet dish up shite against trash like Essendon*, Collingwood and close wins over bottom-dwellers. Is it the message they're sent before the game, or their own natural preparation to be 'careful' against the crap?

such frustrations are normal when watching a young and developing team.

Good call.

There have been plenty if games this year where we have been awful to watch, even last week was like that at times. Playing finals is the goal for us in 2009. It looks like that milestone is going to be achieved.

In 2010 and beyond we need to start producing a more consistent brand of football. Experience and game time is going to assist our group achieve that. There will still be some ugly losses, no doubt, but so long as the development graph keeps pointing upwards then we should remain happy more often than not.
