Meeting Brisbane in a final will make me go loopy. Oh God! If we win it will be heaven, if we lose it will be hell. No in between. I don't think I'd be able to function.

Our best bet would be to play Brisbane week 1, Dogs week 2.......

Then anything could happen....

Due to some results this round we have now been handed a chance to get a home final if we can finish a place higher...a home final against one of Adelaide, Brisbane or Port could be the difference in winning a final or not....great opportunity that we simply must take.

Hard to see us losing 3 more games than Hawthorn or Essendon* in the last 4 weeks - one more win should get us there.

Hopefully we can get our game on as finals approach. I'd love to see us play a home final and win one.

I love this now...

Unless we cop three absolute hidings to Port, Adelaide and Geelong if we only beat Melbourne by a single point we'll have enough percentage over Essendon* and Hawthorn that they'll have to win out to beat us to the finals.

I just did my finals thing after this weeks result and we could go as high as 6 or as low as 8.

I have;

1/2 St Kilda (22/0) - Geelong (20/2)
3 - Brisbane (15/7)
4 - Bulldogs (14/8) - 121.4%
5 - Collingwood (14/8) - 115.1%
6 - Adelaide (14/8) - 113.9%
7 - Port Power (12/10) - 97.1%
8 - Carlton (11/11) - 105.7%
9 - Hawthorn (11/11) - 95.7%
10 - Essendon* (9/13) - 97.2%

Thats with us losing to Adelaide, Port and Geelong and beating Melbourne which given our current form is quite possible.

What would the general opinion be of a Carlton/Collingwood first week of the finals matchup? Any chance?

Agree totally.

Nothing to lose next Friday night.

The gameplan™ MUST be all guns blazing, give it 110% for all 80 minutes of the match.

THE VICARIOUS JOY at the expense of Essendon* and Hawthorn is palpable tonight two teams that really have dug the boots in when we were ordinary for the last 8 years - them both missing out ON THE FINALS is excellent

I dont care if people think we are getting there by default its about time our luck changed we play ordinary for the last 5 weeks and win 4 out of 5 - GO bLUES

I thought Gerrard Healy made an excellent call during the Essendon* game and it was something like no one is handed a finals spot, and that throughout the 22 weeks there are going to be moments where the team must find a way to win. We have done that many times this year. Freo, Sydney, and Richmond were all must win games for us. And we have managed to get through. Lets top it off in style with more than 1 win in the last 4 weeks.

Brisbane
Essendon* (MCG)
Bulldogs (G)
Port (G)
Sydney (SCG)

Are looking a little shaky, and if we play our cards right we might jump them (our percentage is just above theirs). Essendon* at the G could go either way, as could the Dogs or Swans (a bogey team of theirs for years). I think they'll win 2.

Good guys
Geelong (MCG)
Port (AS)
Melbourne (ES)
Adelaide (ES)

A win against the dees is obviously a must, should be enough to keep us in the 8. The trip to Adelaide might be tough, but would love to break the hold the crows have on us. One, possibly two wins here. Our percentage is what should keep us in the 8. Win three of these and we should jump Brissie.

Port:
Freo (S)
Carlton (AS)
Brisbane (G)
Norf (AS)

Two definite wins I'd expect, maybe three depending which Carlton turns up. Will be a cracker against us in two weeks, we need to be ready.

Scum:
Brisbane (MCG)
St Kilda (ES)
Norf (ES)
Hawks (MCG)

Could win three of these, but could also lose all four. I predict they'll win against Bris and NM.

Hawks
St Kilda (TAS)
Adelaide (MCG)
Richmond (MCG)
Essendon* (MCG)

Could win all four, could lose all four if their recent form is anything to go by. I'd pencil their last two as wins, but their next two weeks are very rough.

*** Small Bump ***

As we approach the finals, I reckon both St.Kilda and Geelong will be fairly vulnerable. IMO, the reasons are

* St.Kilda has not got the perfect run home, as they play North and Melbourne in the last two rounds of the year and then they will most likely win their first final and have a two week break. By the time they will play in their prelim final, I believe that they will not be match fit. - If that makes sense

* Geelong has got several injury concerns and by the time they will have their strongest team at on the park it will be finals time. They will also win their first final and have a two-week break and again they wont be match fit

* Carlton is a long shot to go pass the second week of the finals but I'm still optimistic. I believe the team we had against North last week was our best team (give and take out one or two players) and from now and until the finals I reckon we will be match fit as we play Geelong, Port and then Adelaide. If Carlton manages to keep the same team out on the park until seasons end, I reckon we could be a chance in September.

..lookit, come finals time anything can happen, and often the best team thru the season falls by the wayside during the finals.. ..port were minor premiers a couple of times for no flag, ditto cats last year.. ..once yer in a knockout series an off day is curtains, no matter how consistently good you were for months before..

..with our last 4 games, i reckon we're a good chance to win 2, or even 3 personally.. ..port at aami doesn't worry me as much as crows did earlier this year, i reckon we're easily a 50/50 chance and with our recent string of wins against them, reckon we match up well.. ..dee's are as close to a given as you get, and crows at E.S may be shakey, if we learnt our lessons the hard way last time..

.. ..depending on who we get in the 1st week of finals, we're still a big chance.. ..we've beaten a few teams above us on the ladder this year, and beat some of those teams last year too.. [dawgs 3 yrs running now].. ..even an away final vs brions at the gabba isn't as scary, now that we've shaken off the gabba hoodoo [2 yrs running not a fluke]..

Carlton vs. St. Kilda

all fantastic matches

I think you'll find the R1 clash against the Tigers was a classic match too. :smoking:

Are we there yet ?

Aints without St Nick etc will lose to Dawks
Dawks can easily win all 4 then
Port very easily wins all 4 of theirs
We most likely will win one

=

Not quite.

Port or Adel games shaping as crucial :yikes: :yikes:
