One of the things I believe is missing recently is our hard tackling and our intensity at the ball. At the start of the season I would have to say that our man WIGGINS was setting the standard for rest of the team.

I hope he has 10 tackles today for the Blueants and he is in our team next week playing in the forward line. It will help out Betts and Fev.

Come September, it is intensity and hardness at the ball which sorts out the contenders from the pretenders.

WIGGINS

Agree. We play our best footy when we unrelentlessly pressure the opposition.

Wiggo is a big part of that and should be played at half forward for some "frontal pressure".

Joking right? Wiggins who? Oh that's right the one who played a good game against Richmond in round one and then floundered to a whimper after that.

Wiggins needs to work on his kicking but he easily provides what Mitch Robinson does at the moment imo, so if we are going to drop Robbo and Wiggins is fit maybe he'd be the right replacement?

Why would we drop Robbo?

We desperately need some hit up targets going forward and Wiggo was doing his well the first few rounds.

Maybe not this round, he seems to at the moment to only last a couple goes in the seniors before running out of puff.

we need hit up targets. mid size forward offering the leads and the hit ups for when we have the break. at the moment we carry the ball slow cause of the lack of hit options and then we become predictable by kicking it long to a contest

Then he tries hitting up a target or a one on one contest before the 50 gets flooded or numbers back to block Fev.

And im not talking about getting cheap marks on long leads to the wings, im talking about hitting the flanks, keeping his opponent honest

Wiggo a better option than Fisher. Wiggo a much better kick than Fisher. The ball hits the deck and Wiggo offers a contest. He is quicker then Fisher.

Wiggo was on fire earlier on n the season. He showed glimpses of his best (and that it cut the mustard) he fell away a little but so has majority of the team.

At the moment this team is lacking a bit of grunt. Robbo showed some of it friday night, Wiggo puts his body on the line for this side....... not to many are at the moment

Would much prefer we tried something new...how about Gibbs in this role? At least the next kick is guaranteed to hit a target.

You bag the whole team and the coach yet you want us to throw in a player who has been battling his ass off for 10 years and not made any real progress, and wont be anywhere near our next flag, whilst we are on the verge of september, FMD

Don't slag off Melvey just because its Melvey. He simply makes the point that Wiggo is a better option for that lead up role than a Fisher or anyone else on our list at the moment. It more shows we are very short of options, but if he is there and fit, maybe use him.

In an ideal world - we would have a promising youngster who we would be playing in the role rather than hacks like Fisher and Wiggins who we know have their limitations. But if it came to Wiggo or Fish - go Wiggo!

Wiggo started off the season with plenty of life....... then fizzled out without a whimper.

He's got limited ability; and at least needs to be consistent.......and dependable.

Wiggo with skills would be an awesome weapon. I don't think he's been forgotten so much as assessed as not quite up to the standard required. Unfortunately: as our President once said, he's got "heart and balls" (sounds like a plate of offal when you put it in words).
