Apparently there was speculation that Yarran had done the bolt from the Club

Not true - he's over in the west helping out his mum after a death in the family.

I thought Chris' mother was living in Melbourne with him?

I hope the Eagles get that priority pick, sounds more and more to me like Yarran wants to go home.

Just an observation/joke, thought it was funny that Rich was letting us know.......

I have no reason to doubt he really is on approved leave.

Was the leave approved before or after he was dropped?

Full sympathy to Chris, but you cant help hoping to all hell that this doesnt turn into another Ezra Bray scenario... the club has way too much riding on this pick..

Some of you are just selfish disrespectful people. He's had a death in the family, give him a break FFS.

knew that rebuttal was coming... take your pent up emotion out of the scenario, realise Im not referring to this one incident in isolation, and if you look at the situation dispassionately you would see the club has some grave concerns about yarran.. to admit otherwise is folly.
i suppose im going to be called a racist next.

Couldn't care less what you are but to pigeon hole Yarran as an Ezra Bray is an uneducated pot shot at Yarran. Especially if you know ALL of the Ezra Bray story :thanks:

I thought Chris' mother was living in Melbourne with him?

Terrible to hear about this, but I also thought this was the case?

When in High School in the mid to late 80's, I used to use the 'dead uncle' excuse. Worked every time. The more things change the more they stay the same.

I can see what the recruiter saw in the kid, the way he moves and kicks the ball sometimes reminds me of Andrew McLeod, but the lack of desrire he's showing is a great concern. Yeah he's still young and no I'm not one of those idiots declaring him a dud but it's still concerning.

Cyril wanted out when he came to Melbourne and played footy at Scotch...

Russell wanted out after his first two years...

Relax.

I think a really big problem with this site is the 'head-in-the-sand-itis'
A lot of posters dont like dealing with some of the key issues, and rather choose to ignore them or discount them.
The facts are our first round pick in one of the last uncompromised drafts could very easily decide that the cut and thrust of AFL football is not for him...
If this is the case, it will be a balls up of mammoth proportions and I hope that somebody is held accountable for it.

I heard Yarran say in an interview with Rex Hunt after the swans game that his mum had moved down here with him. Swan said she works in the mines in WA and is going to Perth and Chris is joining her. Mine workers generally work 2 to 4 weeks on then have 2-4 weeks off, so it's conceivable she lives down here when not working and goes to WA when she works. I know a few people myself who do that.
