Cazzeman on top of what you say we simply have lost the mojo we had before the break
we played really well up in Brisbane and the aints game was the happiest I have left a Carlton game in 8 years
Judd was injured Fev didnt dominate but we nearly one a game where we were involved showed postivity and took the initiative.

Since that game we have lost something.
Players look tired and confused.
We should have lost last night.
The gods didnt smile on the Kangas in the last with 10 missed shots.

The StKilda game showed we can be better and be right up there
Last night Iwalked out thinking that was shit particularly when you consider that Harding was lost and Simpson played on one leg

This is where the coach has to find a way to get the guys firing again

I thought we looked a very tired side last night. Judd looks injured & so does Betts( and he appears the be the CHF for flowers sake)
Judd should be rested next week.

We are not putting any daylight between ourselves and any of the clubs really.

You can pick out ten players and sack them easily... but that at this time is more a reflection of where were at in our environment and not so much about the players ....

Our players have not improved enough...

It's cool alright. We have now won 20 games in two years. In the previous six years we won 28 games. :|

Did you expect more this year?

Finals will meet my expectations. Get there and I am happy. With out list i think that is a major breakthrough and will give us a nice base to build on. Hopefully have a real crack at a flag sometime between 2012 - 2014.

Go Blues !

If we don't start showing improvement in how we play and plan AS A TEAM we will probably get in the bottom eight for the next 5-7 years... after which our premiership windows has been and gone! I need to see something to suggest that we can collectively play as a team to push for top four in the next few years.... I don't see that at all.

Our last noteworthy performance. Was that in May or June?

The questions are being asked internally.

Including about Rattens coaching.

We have a team that should be improving and its either stagnating or falling back now.

You would have thought there would be noticeable improvement every six weeks with a young and telented list... but alas.. there is nothing.. there is a lack of enthusiasm and a general lack of understanding of the game..
Our senior players have gone into self preservation mode.. which is natural when you dont have anything else to grasp at... youll end up resorting to that...

Ratten cant coach and i dont believe he has what it taked to be a 'player whisperer'.. he doesnt have what it takes...

Watch the victory song... and judge for yourselves if this is a vibrant happy passionate and positive group of footballers playing in a team that seems to be going places...

teagueyoubeauty..i... but you cant take something in isolation like the Saints game... you should notice the pattern of the season instead...
The pattern of the season is were firing on 2 cylinders... and the older group have lost it...
.... the young players havent progressed...
.... some like Edwards havent even looked like it...

To me the going on are a disaster..... there is NO IMPROVEMENT now... not on the ground.. not with the kids a a collective... not with the veterans... and not in morale...

Anything you want to add to that??

So handing out the first ten-goal thrashing to The Swans have got from any team in 5 years doesn't count?

Some people are terribly selective about what constitutes improvement.

This is a Swans team that is unlike any other Swans team of the last 5 years.

To think or pretend otherwise youre deluded....

Were going backwards.....

maybe not on the ladder.. because i have to keep stressing.. its a shit comp....

.... but in what were doing in the middle... and how players as individuals and as a collective are performing..

Wins mean nothing if you are not capable of being a good and improving team.

We won 10 under Pagan one year and the wooden spoon the next.

Dont get sucked in by wins if you havent even got a pattern of play..

Chris Judd has won more games for Carlton than Ratten has from the coaches box.

Yep, fair enough.

But this is the way I see it:

We're playing horrid footy. But winning.

Is it papering over some cracks? Possibly.

Is the team being coached to the best possible advantage? Don't think so.

Do we have the talent in the list to improve from where we are right now? Most definitely.

Will it take a lot to improve? Probably not.

The last 2 points for mine are the big positives from the horrible footy we're playing. If we were playing the way we are, but had no room for improvement, I'd be worried. Is Ratten the guy to make massive improvements in this team? Well, to be honest I have my doubts, but at the same time, I think he has to coach the side in 2010, and see how we're travelling into the break.

Of course questions have to be constantly asked. To do otherwise would be the Club letting itself down. But to knife Ratten now, or even at the end of this season, would actually damage the team more than not, and we'd head backwards for 2010, IMO.

Coaches dont win games, they implement structures and develop the decision making processes so the players can win games.
Perhaps if you put more thought into your posts and less time into your sooking, you'd grasp the way it works.

BV, the structures and decision making are non existant..

The Enthusiasm of the team looks gone too...

Coaches make winning moves BV.

Juddy has got us over the line more times than not.

Without Judd Ratten would have been sacked by now.
