Have to say that after Friday's loss the thing that came to my mind was a dozen or so blueboys in prison on thier knees with thier teeth knocked out and someone saying .... "You gonna take this and you gonna like it biyatch!"

So I have to agree with Melvey on this one ... I for one am glad he did not keep his word ... I like his passion.

But avoid doing it the future Melvey ... it seems tio clog up the threads with why you came back etc :donk:

Needless to say I think we are all passionate blues supporters and agree that some of them seriously need to harden the flower up.

Its AFL ... and I would swallow and spill a pint of blood each week if I had the talent to run around and star in a Blues guernsey!

I think sometimes they forget what a previledge it really is.

Go Blueboyz

I've seen 7 premierships since I have been on this earth and have got my Collingwood mates covered until we all die. I figure if they have won 1 premiership in 50 years they will need to win another 6 in the next 50 years to breakeven with me.
It really is a priviledge to tell them.

Dont attack melvey because its melvey.
He is spot on here
We have been softcocks in quite a few games this year. Bryce has been the top of the list in some games.

Just hope he believes what he states. Not just against North but the remaining 4 games as well.

Yep.....I'd like to see Mitch Robbo in there.....a bit of Luke Hodge or Lenny Hayes would go down well too......we do need some desperados in the side.

And remember to thank them for 3 of those 7!

It's true though, one thing we HAVE to add to the game is hardness. That HTFU exercise has obviously worn off somewhat.

There are maybe half a dozen on the list that are inside players, not afraid to take a knock and prefer getting their hands dirty rather than running past for a handball.

Wiggo, Robbo are two perfect examples - and I'm certain loves then for that reason.

You think Ratts being the player he was he would try to instill this in the guys..

...as for stagefright, I usually overcome it by using a cubicle rather than a urinal. :)

No just when the scum or the filth wipe the floor with us. If the boys cannot get up for these matches then something must be wrong .... nothing like Mathew Lollipop knocking our teeth out and saying come ere biyatch.

I have seen a few myself can just remember the 1979 one so yeah I agree with u it has also been a priviledge to have been and obviously still be a blues supporter.

But lets not fall into the trap of living in the past. We cannot buy our premierships anymore. I think we are getting there but and this is where I am concerned ... in the modern game we all know there is a window of opportunity and after 7 of the darkest years (actually the darkest!) of our history I just do not want to see us be a Collingwood where we are there abouts for 10 or so years with nothing to show for it!

I would love to win every match and it would never be boring to me but realise that is not possible.

What is possible is players giving 100% for the jumper win or lose.

That is all I ask.

Too much :?:

Don't think so... its a proud jumper after all!

Bagging Bryce Gibbs is a bit rich, he doesn't exactly have the same midfield and harder bodies Selwood has. By the way, Selwood is a freak, but Gibbsy will be fine. People used to get stuck into Adam Cooney, remember...

Also where should our side be exactly? Where is this superhuman capabilities that some people think we have which isnt being utilised?

I watched Cooney on the weekend and some of his efforts in close at times were terrible. No body on body lack of chasing 2nd and 3rd efforts. Some players are very good at trying to disguise it.I dont care how many Brownlows he has won. Another overrated player IMO. Intersesting how he will go in the finals

What is this window of opportunity?

How long does it last?

..either way, the Gibblet is right in one regard at least.. ..and that's the problem the team 'sometimes' has with blockbuster games.. ..it's not always the case, but the flat, insipid and cautious game style we brought to the bummers v.2 and the pies v.2 was disgraceful.. ..need to bring more of the tiges v.1 and saints blockbuster type game..young team and alla that, but come finals they're all blockbuster type games, and the better we get the heavier the weight of expectation so the sooner they get to grips with this 'stagefright', the better..
