Move the ball fast!

On One Wk at a time, that dirty little rat Clarkson, when asked the change he has noticed this year, said speed of ball movement. This is obvious to everyone but the Carlton MC. You can feel yourself growing old watching us exit defence.

Also, hopefully the instruction this week will be to avoid the oppo's loose man in defence rather than kick it to him. How about we attack, take risks, take the game on. And hopefully our coach can actually elicit an intense performance from the team rather than the confused, tentative offerings we have endured recently. Apart from a half ag the Swans we have lacked intensity since the break. And two disgraceful night performances ag our greatest rivals the Bombers and the Woods has deservedly puts lots of pressure on players and coaches. Let's see who can and can't handle it.

No mercy for these teams - all danced on our grave when we were ordinary - PAYBACK time -smash them

Get some real pace in the side walker army and run them off their legs

Give us something after the ineptitude of last week

Stirring stuff Frank, and dance on our graves they did.

That little Oompa-Loompa plus Shannon "Cheek-puffer" Grant and David "Fist-pump" King are the primary reasons why I hate this mob.

Should be an interesting selection tonight.

I think it will be:

Ins: Jamison, Setanta (if fit), Stevens, Robbo. Probably Cloke if Setanta can't get up.
Outs: Hartlett (inj), Johnson (inj), Bentley, Fisher

I think Walks will get another week in the VFL, help get some more confidence in his shoulder and another game to get ready.

Not happy at all with Stevo but I can understand the willingness to bring him in to see how he'll respond to what's happened.

Quite obviously, Stevo must realise he's playing for his carreer these last 5 rounds.

..i understand the sentiment, but without knowing the exact set goals he had to achieve when dropped, and whether he has or hasn't reached those goals.. ..i think with a player like Stevo, he's been out for a month now, if the 'disciplinary' aspect hasn't taught him a lesson by now, it never will.. ..so, provided he's worked on certain parts of his game, it's time to see whether he's gonna give us what is required..

Stevens could have been partying everynight of the week and smoking a bong at training and he would be getting a game this week.

After last weeks effort vs Collingwood and a couple of weeks of trying to be cute by picking duds like Bentley, Hartlett etc the MC and coach have abandoned the get tough stuff and will pick the best team on talent alone because securing a finals spot and keeping their jobs is what the main agenda item is now....

Please please relax with the 40+ win predictions... these blokes have slapped us the last 6 times we have played? ( excluding NAB cup )
Their captain and one of their better players is retiring after this game, they will definately play with passion and determination. Based on last week how anyone can be confident that we win let alone slap them??

I do think we will win, but in no way am i confident.... im getting on Kangaroos at $3.50 to win as insurance

I got on the Blues at $1.87 for over 15.5 points.

Still $3.50 is decent odds - there are a lot of good odds on offer this round.

Hollywood43's gone and plonked his cash against us.

Last time he did that, we won.

Must win game if there ever was one!

I too am having my reservations about Ratts at this point, very frustrated with his negative approach to games when we play so much better when we are attacking and creative, the games against the pies and the bombers were totally unacceptable!

If you have a look at Ross Lyon's first year when he took over the saints, the team was playing shithouse, huge disappointment considering the talent on their list, and you can now how they've turned it around are the benchmark of the competition (with geelong). We have a great opportunity over the next few years to become a very good side, a dangerous side... You wouldn't want any stone unturned in ensuring the team gets the best out of themselves...

You can't help but wonder..
a). how much having a quality tall such as Waite and Walker being out of the side has hurt us, in terms of having an X-Factor in the side that will hurt the opposition.
and
b). how much the finals hype, the monkey on our backs has played on the minds of our young players... the gibbs, murphys (who has mostly had a fine year), grigg, and the attacking mentality which in recent weeks has been non existant... judd and fev had been the ones, apart from the last qtr against sydney who got us over the line with their brilliance..

I think it's fair to be asking questions of the coach, missing on finals would be a huge disappointment, even making up the numbers would be very much so considering our potential... Frustrating to see us play this way when we have seen what we can do when we take the opposition on.. ie: the stkilda game.

We better start getting into gear very quickly, starting with this week against the roos. Otherwise we could be headed for a wasted year!!

I like this. At least he is now no chance of being added to the list of Carlton opponents who have been played back in to form

+ 1

And if that happens, who will take the responsibility for us not making finals ?
