Grigg has got away with far too much for far too long.

Other than his 2nd game back he has been largely ineffective.

In fact, the reason I have Armfield ahead of Grigg is whilst they are both avearge kickes on their preferred foot, at least Armfield has something to offer on his other side, has a defensive game and takes on the game.

Grigg of late has been a lost puppy with a lot of huff and puff.

Do I think Grigg can make our 22 in our flag team? Yep!

But for now, he is so overated on TC it's kind of strange to watch him and try and find positives to rate him myself.

He need a rest in the twos and instructed by those who know how to develop players on areas he has to work on.

agreed....what's the love affair with him...largely ineffective....could be because of the gameplan.........oops, wrong thread..scusi

Back on topic - get a good start - take the crowd and Simpson factor out early and pulverise them - went to a game a few years ago at the dome where they beat us I think by over 100 points -laughable when they tried in the last quarter to give their retiring beanpole ruckman a goal and we couldnt even stop them doing that - harvey et al laughed at us - time to put them to the sword

No mercy for these teams - all danced on our grave when we were ordinary - PAYBACK time -smash them

Get some real pace in the side walker army and run them off their legs

Give us something after the ineptitude of last week

Grigg?

Strong overhead, quick off the mark, good kick for goal, not a superb long kick but can kick to a lead.

Ticks a lot of boxes for mine. It's just a shame he doesn't deliver the ball better from deeper in midfield. Body of a game-breaking hard nut, plays like a winger/hff.

Strong overhead you say ??? I'm going to have to take a closer look on this one.

I think we should use 8 players to lock down their better players......
Gotta treat this game with caution...
Dangerous side....

Its exactly how were coached to play...

We do the same things every game dont we?
Cant kick in.. cant move the ball on... shithouse inside 50s.. lock down roles galore....

.. its only fitting...

The sooner Ratts gets adventurous and more creative the better.. for all of us..even me and you...

Forget a few years ago.

When we played them late last year we were still a mathematical chance to make the 8 - of course at least in the eyes of me the supreme optimist.

We got flogged by over 10 goals.

Screw Simpson's farewell match, punish these foolios and *start to* make amends for last weeks ineptitude.

If we don't win this, and well - in the face of a big game for them - not only win we probably not make the 8... we probably won't deserve to make the 8...

Memo to Ratts and the other coaching staff:

Please approach the game this Friday night with no other thought than how we are going to play this game. Worry about our game plan, how we are going to WIN the game, not how we are going to NOT LOSE. Let them plan to match up on pur midfield, our forwards. Yes do your planning, but play our game style, I know there is one somewhere (second half Sydney), be ballsy, be confident and start believing in the blokes that wear the jumper each week. When you believe, they believe and we play fantastic footy.

No holding back, no holding the ball in the air to waste time, no protecting our lead. Go out there and smash them, we all remember round 22 a few years back, time to slap em up good and proper!

DOA, any word yet on whether Andrew's back this week? How's he feeling?

I reckon that the Cloke interview/ article on the CFC website was put there because Cloke will replace Fisher this week.

If so, I guess Cloke will play the Kreuzer role in the square instead of Kreuzer, and have Fev leading out. There's no way we can afford to have Cloke playing CHF, so who would?

Cloke as a big marking forward instead of Setanta roaming the arch is a big mistake, but one I guess we can afford against North; they aren't as mobile in defense as Saints, Cats, Dons, Pies...well most of the other top teams.

But what's the point in bringing him in when we still have to face Cats, Port and Crows before the finals?

Well I'm just guessing that's the case, the point being the MC has a plan to win this week...and we are being softened up through the media for the unimaginable.

I hope that's not the case.

I also hope we play a very attacking game at the fast Dome (ala 2nd half against the Swans).
Lets run and be creative.
Mix it up and Unshackle them Ratts.

Please please relax with the 40+ win predictions... these blokes have slapped us the last 6 times we have played? ( excluding NAB cup )
Their captain and one of their better players is retiring after this game, they will definately play with passion and determination. Based on last week how anyone can be confident that we win let alone slap them??

I do think we will win, but in no way am i confident.... im getting on Kangaroos at $3.50 to win as insurance

Can I get $3.50 with you that their captain is not retiring this week?
