Can anyone explain to me why Cloke (5 goals last week, 6 this week) isn't in the side. We have no-one who can fill the CHF spot with any authority. Fisher at 100 games is simply not up to it. Setanta is a week to week proposition, up one week down the next.

Why can't we get Cloke on the park in the seniors?

He's outscored our entire side this week.

What gives?

Because hes a downhill skier who performs when the heat is off and crumbles under pressure, watch the hawks game this year to see for yourself

He also, quite unfortunately, hasn't quite perfected his flux capaciter. This would have allowed him to kick 6 on saturday, impress the coaching panel, go back to thursday night and, on the back of the 6 goals he was to kick in 2 days, gain selection.

because he is a terrible player at AFL level that clearly isn't a working member of the team.

Cloke is my least favourite Carlton player because he will make a mistake and then start barking orders at people after it. I also hate it that he refuses to run through the banner before games

I don't care if he kicks 15 goals at the VFL level i NEVER want to see him on the field of a seniors game again.

He kicked 6 against the smallest backline in the VFL on Saturday.

He is as slow as a wet week. He is agood VFL footballer.

What gives?

Because there is a large gap between VFL and AFL.
Cloke and Wiggins have been given plenty of opportunity at senior level and we need to look at/develop alternative options i.e. Kreuzer, Setanta, Yarran, Garlett, Robinson etc

Lots of players don't run through the banner..... Nick Stevens doesn't (I think), and Fev won't let the banner touch him.

As for Cloke,
Yes he was found wanting in rd 6, well so did a few other players like Houla who keeps on getting chance after chance after chance. Houla's job after footy is too put the softness back into butter.

Cloke has also been out with injuries as well.

Give him another chance and see if he can learn from the past. Throw him a challenge. Talk to his old man, talk to his brother but try to get Cam back, don't know why but I like him in the team, he has presence/size, can take a pack mark and split packs open and get the ball to ground for Eddie and co. Fisher can't offer that.

Did anyone watch the lack of pressure coming out of our forward line on the weekend, the last thing we need is for an iceberg to come into the team.

He had his chance earlier in the season and failed miserably.

He's big and lumbering, never seen a presence at all. He has absolutely no idea how to or even want to use his bulk to crash packs. Setanta took more contested marks in the Essendon* game than Cloke in the whole first 6 games.

He was a massive liability to us earlier in the year. He'll end up being like Jordan Bannister, year after year i have no idea why he's still on the list yet we perceive to lack players in his position.

Just like Rhino O'Sullivan, its a mystery.

Maybe Fev and Cloke can hold hands and chase together.

Cloke has taken plenty of pack marks and crashed packs... Senanta took 3-4 marks on the lead in that 1st qrt and hasn't played since.

Don't bother looking any further, your wasting your time

Fev is derided for his chasing at times but if you're trying to compare Fev and Cloke in defensive pressure then you're barking up the wrong tree.

I barked up that tree and didn't see Fev cause he stayed behind and watched.

Fev has lucky to have chased about 10% at times this year and about 80% of those times have been half hearted.

All I'm saying is to give Cloke another chance, maybe he has learned from his mistakes. He is our only option on our list until Warnock comes into the ruck to free up Kruse to go forward which might give Cloke 2-3 weeks to prove where he is at.

Cloke is Digby Morrell in disguise.

(plus he needs 7 games this year to get a new contract. he's on 5. wont happen)

Didn't Fish kick 6 in the VFL a month or so ago?

..as others have said, too much of a gap between vfl and afl to really use it as proof that he should come back into the team.. ..he's not some kid that's never played afl and so his afl form is a mystery and we give him a go.. ..we know what clokey gives us at afl level, and its not enough.. ..no matter how good he is at vfl, how hard he tries etc etc, he's not up to afl level, and the odd good game is just a lucky day out for him at senior level.. ..it's unfortunate, but thats just how it goes.. ..is slower than fish on the chase , and nowhere near as good as him at crumbing goals/snapshots.. ..and fish barely scrapes in at afl level..

Reward players who are in form. Cloke deserved to be dropped earlier in the year but has done the hard work and stepped up in the VFL. Assuming he's training hard and doing the right stuff off-field I definitely think he deserves another go.

I don't think I'd bring him in to play a CHF role though. He looked more dangerous playing out of the goal square.

..the problem is, good form in the vfl doesn't equate to good afl form, not even close i reckon.. ..do you give him a game cos he's got some good form in sub-par vfl, trained well, and isn't up to AFL standard..??..
