Doc Larkins just said on the footy show the word from Carlton is Judd may need a week.

Sad as this sounds but the boys would gain so much confidence winning without Juddy.

This game kinda reminds me of the tigers one last year. Juddy missed and Stevo stepped up and played one of his best games for the Blues!

I cant see how it would benefit the club in the long term (and thats what we still need to be focused on) to play a half fit Judd if we have the opportunity to beat the Roos without him..
I think winning without Judd could really give us that added burst of confidence going into the last few rounds of the year..
Why risk a 1mill/year investment when the upside of not playing him (ie: getting his body right, spreading the load amongst the other players) is so much more tangible.

Watched him on the news last night limping to his car; as he gave an OK to a reporter.

Interestingly.....he had a saline drip and bottle attached to himself......

Think that was his iPod.

Totally understand where you are coming from Josh. Hard to argue with the theory. However who is confident we'd get the job done without him?? Truth be told, after Friday night, I'm not entirely sold we'd win with him.

I agree. I doubt Carlton can beat North without Judd. When was the last time Carlton beat North? 2000? 2001? 2002?... Instead of using Judd for 75% plus of the match - use him for 50% and rest him for the match against Geelong.

I like the theory, but only if Judd is deemed medically unfit to play

We will comfortably beat North, Judd or no Judd.

We beat them last in 2004, but that shouldnt affect our mindset. They are tanking and we should have no problems winning.

How about this lineup Vs Kangaroos

FF: Betts Fevola Judd
HF: Russell O'hAilpin Walker
C: Carrazzo Gibbs Grigg
HB: Bower Thornton Houlihan
FB: Joseph Jamison Austin
RU: Kreuzer Simpson Murphy
IC: Hampson Scotland Fisher Stevens
EM: Cloke Johnson Bentley

IN: A.Walker - M.Jamison - S.O'hAilpin - N.Stevens
OUT: A.Hartlett - C.Yarran - G.Bentley - C.Johnson

It'd be nice to see what sort of an impact Judd's defensive skills could do for the teams forward pressure.

I don't think that there is any doubt that any of the changes are upgrades to the team that played Collingwood (Jamison over Hartlett; O'hAilpin over Yarran; Walker over Bentley; Stevens over Johnson)

I'd give it a go.

Got found out against Pies, no one protected Judd.

We will swing plenty of changes this week.

All players coming in hit packs harder

In - Walker, Stevens, Robinson, Armfield, Jamison

Out - Johnson, Scotland, Yarran, Hartlett, Austin

I would love, Walker to run with Judd (He has the fitness) and just tag his opponent.

Walker and Judd could work off each other and split North open.

I agree CR - it's a romantic view, but the way Judd & Walker worked together one-on-one on the track in the preseason - it would be brilliant if Walker could step right up next week & work tandem with Judd in the midfield & lead us into the finals in red hot form.

resting judd is a great idea.

there has been too many times this year that the midfield has been down unless big bro leads from the front....way too many.

i know it was only the nab cup, but does everyone remember that youthful, 'baby blue' team that took it to geelong in the semi final?
their will to work together was awesome and we saw a side to some players we had never seen.

more to the point, if we can't beat north without judd we don't deserve to play finals.

..it depends on whether he's really struggling with injury i guess, if it's just a niggle that's commonplace thru the ranks of footy players type deal, and it's not the sort that can get aggravated, and he plays thru it then he plays.. ..but if he's covering up something a bit more serious.. ..definately rest him..

I'd say Hadley is set to take Judd's spot.
