now Buckley is available, and Buckley by most experts estimations was at least on a par with Voss, if not rated above him, before he began coaching the Lions...
ERGO we need to say goodbye to Ratts and get Buckley - we will never have this chance again.

GET BUCKLEY - he would jump at the Carlton job over North or Richmond.

15 other clubs love seeing Ratten is coaching Carlton.

But on the head to head basis that seems to be rule in this thread Ratts has outcoached Voss 2 - nil.

Not to mention his record over Malthouse is 3-2.

But Buckley is some sort of genius...the only problem is he is a mealy mouthed inarticualte egomaniac. I'm sure he'll be able to overcome all that and somehow charm the Blues players.

Guys, this is pathetic, some of us actually want to discuss the issues... not innuendo and personal snipes.

Let's talk about the game itself, because that's all we've borne witness to.

Traded early picks for mature hacks...cost us good half decade at the bottom of the ladder.

So did the great Dean Laidley...

Given resources and playing personnel this is the worst coaching staff since 1964

I think that we need to make a genuine play for Laidley as Director of Coaching / Tactics.

We can't afford to have Ratts learning on the job next year as well.

Thoughts?

I had my doubts about Ratten after the Essendon* game, tonights loss has just confirmed it !!!!!

Yep agree, lets get Laidley. we cant do any worse than what we have in coaching Panel already.

Give Laidley the coaching job,,,,,,,,,,,, not the Director's job !!!

There's an idea!

We must've fluked having the third highest total score for the season prior to this round.

I hate flukes.

FEVOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by the way... at least we played without him today......

One trick pony coaches will contrinue to cling onto a gameplan that revolves around 2 blokes.

Beat them both and you beat us more often than not ....

But there are 22 players out there....alot dont have any real roles when you watch them...unless thyre playing ruck .. key position or a tag...

And you're missing the point again Juddy. Pretty sure I have stated I don't oppose the thread or those expressing their views. I'm laughing as much at myself as you guys, as both sides are sounding like broken records as we continually cover the same ground.

At least you blokes grabbed a win tonight. Congratulations

Ahhhh ive worked it out.. youre mrs ratten right???

you earliuer said you dont mind people having a go at rarts coaching mrs ratten.. as long as its within reason or something?

Well mrs ratten...youve had your fun lately...having a go at us are you mrs ratten???... protecting the hubby are you????.... ..but here are my reasons again...

my reasons..
1)we know how hard it is this coaching caper to find one that can coach.. % are pretty low to have a good one..
2)hasnt coached anywhere
3)had the job handed to him on a plate by mates.
4)side undrilled after 2 years,.,
5) cant kick.... players have genuine skill flaws .. even judd and gibbs..
6) not enough kids have improved - its just been organic improvement... our lesser players struggle even our good ones struggle.
7) confusion on the part
8) too static
9) mrs ratten.... im getting onto nine... how many bad starts have we had... suggests whatever he says to them before they go out onto the park is having a nagative effect... (probably cos his tactics and mindset is one of negativity) mrs ratten....and the tactics and preparation which has been laid in place during the week.. mrs.. ratten... are usually that negative and flawed ...

dadadadada said.. it .. we went in too top heavy FOR STARTERS against collingwood..)... anyway our preparation often leaves us behind the eight ball.

10) Collingwood played with more FIRST YEAR players who played a solid role....in their more disciplined.. more drilled win...

Im assuming you are mrs ratten..... or a cousin???

and if you think im having a go.. you should read what you write up...

Now that was TEN REASONS WHY I THINK HE IS THE WRONG COACH... and until this club admits it was a horrendous mistake appointing Ratten as coach and moves to change things we will be hitting a glass ceiling...

... and no matter how many number 1 picks we have or Champion footballers... (he cant get the best out of anyone mind you)..., we will be banging our heads against the glass ceiling

Now what i want from you.... are three reasons as to WHY RATTEN IS THE RIGHT MAN....

Just THREE...

the floor is yours.... and whoever wants to take a crack...

Not ... so so wasnt liked and look at him now argument....

BUT WHY RATTS IS THE RIGHT MAN on what he HAS SHOWN SO FAR!!!

Ok????

1. Ratts punches the air and shouts "Go Blues" when we kick a big goal. That's awesome

Unless you count Bett's 34 goals "out of his ass".

And Murphy had kicked 19 becuase he has no role.

Dude, we had Fevola BEFORE Pagan, let alone Ratten. Flawed logic AGAIN?

Take away Fev and tell me how high we'd be. Relying on 1 player to kick goals isnt/doesnt work.

Fevola has been at Carlton since 1999. Since then we've had Parkin, Brittain, Pagan and Ratten as coach.
