I think he he would be thinking Kade Simpson or Andrew Carrazzo but just might not have been prepared to say it because of the potential follow up questions.

Great reply from Murph re captain question. There are plenty of options but he was best not to answer due to the nick stevens situation.
He should have said big Kreuzer. THat would have led into one of their next questions.

We are a young team. When our average age is the same as the Cats or Saints we will have captaincy options all over the place.

The first follow-up would have been: "Do you see yourself as captain of Carlton?"

Nicely played with a straight bat, IMO.

Jordan Russell is talking on 'Hungry For Sport' this morning with KB on SEN. NOt 100% sure what time.
Don't think I've ever heard him being interviewed. Struggling to think of why they would want to interview him :screwy:

Interested to hear what his perspective of himself, the team, our future are

JR has been interviewed many times this season before and after games. Talks very well.

That was interesting, but I thought it was more that he felt he couldn't nominate Stevens, so didn't know what else to say.

But thats the point Camel= Stevens is the only other alternative and he cant get a game he should have been able to rattle 3 or 4 guys off the top of his head - you could at Geelong or Stkilda - Bulldogs even Brisbane

They are really lacking in the on field leadership status - we are a few years away before guys like Murph step up into that role

Don't agree. I woud have thought either Simmo or Carrots would be terrific 2nd options at the moment to Judd. But even if Murphy agreed, it would be impolitic for him to say so, given that Stevo is our current VC.

As the others, including Stefchook have stated, Murph just played a straight bat and avoided the inevitable Stevens grilling had he nominated someone else.

Okay, he maybe could have played his straight bat with a bit more confidence, but as noted by ScottS, he did appear quite nervous.

Did you notice the first couple of minutes with the hand slap on his legs, haha. Once he felt a bit more comfortable he settled in a bit better.

The Duchess was outraged when she saw what Brown did to him. Said it was like beating a puppy with a stick  . I told her he was tough enough to look after himself  .

Do you reckon you could handle him better?

I think you answered your own question. I'm also interested to hear him speak after reading so many opinions on TC. Hope he doesn't read TC, there are many things said here that would not help his confidence.

dont think murph handled himself well to be honest, he was jittery the whole time, looked like a tomato and was repeating himself, i was so nervous for him i think i was red and jittery and glad it was over. i know he is young and im probably being a bit harsh but even my mate who was over my house said the same thing. with the captain ? should have reeled a few names off and be done with it

It really gives us a true indication of where as a club they are at - They lack on field leadership. Is it any wonder they at times look like they are not drilled or unsure what to do . This group has a long way to go and I think they are on the right track - despite the constant moans from certain posters and supporters around the traps

Have you bean taking lessons from the ghost of George Orwell?

You're right - we should've taken Thomas instead.

Good article by Murph in the wake of his interview.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/ ... fault.aspx

Talks about the first couple of years being tough, and how it is really turning around now. Also talks about how preparing for games properly is helping him get out on the park consistently. A good read.

It's nice to see the Blues on the front foot a lot more this year re the media. Sending out a lot of press releases/stories now, and not all bad. :) Makes a nice change.
