Fev interviewed by the usual 'quality' journalist from the Sun.

As ar as I am aware Fev doesn't owe any money to any bookie but loves poker, I mean he really does love it.

He's played in some major events at the Crown, but they are harmless good fun.

As far as I can tell the allegations of him throwing games falls back to the miss against Hawthorn.

So all these morons who think he threw the game think he's good enough to aim for, and hit the post, with a kick that swings late.

Cutting it kinda fine isn't he?

Why would he bother taking the mark in the first place?

as soon as i heard him get accused of throwing games i immediately thought back to the hawthorn game and how people who haven't a single clue of footy would believe that he deliberately missed that goal. for crying out loud, the ball was going to split the middle until the last second where it swung back in sharply and hit the inside of the post. not to mention he had just kickd 8 goals and brought us right back in the game and that he had just taken a brilliant one-on-one mark against the opposition ruckman to get the shot in the first place. i could understand people making a case for the freo game up at the gold coast bu having followed fev's career for such a long time i know he's not the type of person who'd deliberately do that. and he also kicked an important goal towards the end of that game as well.

I heard on the grapevine that the bookies were going to settle some debts with Fev if he kicked 5.2 against the Swans...

An additional 100k if he took 10 marks exactly.

I find his story very believable, and if he is 'addicted' to poker it's a pretty harmless addiction. As he says, he plays relatively small tournaments, and $50 a night on poker is not a lot of money at all. How much do others spend on TVs, booze, whatever. It's what he likes to do best.

If he is being sponsored by 888.com he might be making a profit of it anyway.

I'd rather he be inside playing online poker all night rather than out drinking.

I know he's a highly paid footballer and everything, but $50 a night is $350 a week which is around $18,000 a year. And I bet many nights, he doesn't stop at $50. That's a hell of a lot of money for most people, and I'd be disappointed if he was throwing that much money down the drain when it could be used for much better purposes. Gambling is such a selfish habit and I applaud those who have not only beaten the addiction, but those who avoid it in the first place.
