Welcome Mate. Im of the belief that Fisher will not be at the club in 2010. I am fairly confident that he will be traded. As someone else mentioned apart from 10 minuted of good footy he did next to nothing on the weekend and Setanta offers far more in terms of X Factor, aggression and defensve pressure. I cannot see any room for Fisher in the blues future.
A forward line of :
HF: Walker Waite Ohailpin
Betts Fevola Kreuzer

Looks very good and with Yarran, Garlett and others pushing up i cannot see how he will prosper at the club. I would say trade him for a 3rd round pick.

Correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure fish signed a 2 year deal last year so he will still be contracted for 2010?

Righto, another week in the 'Ants for Andrew, in comes Stevens apparently. Joseph won't get his rest this week, but we should consider it for the Roos game.

Cant rest AJ for the kangapoos game he's the perfect matchup to quell the effectiveness of harvey who looks like he's coming back into a bit of form.

On SEN Greg Denham said Setanta will miss the next two after straining a hammy.

From the Bullants reports looks as if Walks was rusty but the conditions weren't great yesterday.

Whispers around the presidents lunch that Stevens will play friday night.

Hi fellow TC'ers.
Heading back overseas after the game on Friday night and was hoping to catch up and hopefully sit with some of my Blue Brethren. I have my membership card for ground entry and it would be great if there are any recommendations as to where I might join you sitting at the ground. A PM or post with any suggestions would be much appreciated.

What would you tade fish for....and what would you trade Fish for???

Unless a GC would hand over a fairly high pick in the 20s I don't see the point. He's a strong marking forward who can kick 3 goals in a game without a problem.

Trade him to Birds Eye where he can be turned into fish fingers

True duke, but his bad games by far outweigh his good. Fantastic overhead mark!!! always has been even in his juniour days he was awesome, used to hate playing against him! But his lack of strength, leg speed and kicking accuracy would suggest that the game has superceded him unfortunately! He has been in the system for 6 years now and i hope he proves us wrong in the next few weeks!

Please please please please please.........................

DO NOT bring back in Stevens.

We play a totally different brand of football with him out of the side.

Had Stevens been playing on saturday, i have no doubt in my mind that we would have lost. If not lost, then certainly we wouldn't have played with such belief to whack on 9 unanswered goals.

I've said it for so long now. Stevens is a virus to this side. I'm saying his no good, but his attitude eats away at the self-belief of our youths.

He's missed 5 games this year and of those, we've won them all!

Ratts cops a lot of critisism (myself included) on these boards for his style of play and selections, but give credit to where credit is due................. he's decision on dropping Stevens has played a MASSIVE part in why we've won 3 in a row.

Aggree that this match could well be the most important match we've had for a while.

WIN:- and finals are a certainty with a slim chance of a Top 4. We'd join Adelaide / Brisbane & Collingwood on 40 points WITH a higher percentage)

Massive Massive game!

I hope Setanta gets up!

I agree he's not in our best 22, but when you lose Waite and you've only got blokes like Edwards, Hartlett etc Fish becomes very imnportant. His knee reco means he's lost penetration in his kicking but should stay on the list until we have an adequate replacement.

You sure it's fish fingers and not fish scallops or fish cakes?

I'd be playing Walker this week, he might have been rusty skill wise, but that can be improved playing for Carlton on better grounds and conditions and better quality players around him IMO.

I reckon its way to risky to bring him back in. Walks missing so much football and no way near match conditioned, it would put him in the high risk category for a soft tissue injury.

Not sure he would be all that confident with the shoulder just yet and a hard contested, taxing game against the pies we would need players who are willing to put there body on line.

A few games in the bullants will do him the world of good.

Maybe a come back against the Kangas.

I'd trust the medicos before you melvey - with respect.

If they say the shoulder is okay, it's okay. As long as we replace him for a player not so talented, I'd be happy to bring him in.

We know he's got enduro to burn and speed on his side. Maybe just bring him in to run beside and negate a possession getter for the Pies.

This is a must win and we need our best talent on the paddock

Stevens bad games are better than Bentley and Russels good games - he is a must this week

Hartlett may not have shown much but I liked the way he ironed out Jude Bolton in the first few minutes - That was probably Boltons worst game he has had against us . If he can do the same to Didak or Swan this week I will be happy

Its disgraceful if they were suggesting bringing Stevens in on Saturday. It is a decision that is entirely subjective and not based on form or any measurable criteria.
By Saturday, he had only played one game since his ommission and that was very poor, then he had a week off and they're indicating that he will be promoted before his second Ants game the next day? How can you make that decision? What is it based on?

Its this type of crap that makes people lose faith in Ratten's ability to be a professional AFL coach! :hitcomputer:

and with respect - im glad you're not on the match committee

Not matter who much running, training you do or how fit you are, it doesn't compare to being match conditioned. He's played 40 minutes of football in a year and you wanna bring him back in.

Really and Truly?

That is all you remember?

Setanta has been given glowing commendations from both within the Blue brethren and from the media over the last 3 games he played.

Maybe Fev could have helped out Setanta, who was in the box seat instead of ramming his knee into him in a 2 against 3 contest.

Do you recall Setanta kicking 4 goals and should have kicked 6 in his last game ?????? Plus 2 assists ????? With a bung back ?????

I can see why Fisher could be retained, but surely the measure should be Setanta >>>>>>>Fisher in all facets of the game...especially against the fast Pies. If Fisher can be retained, fair enough, but not at the expense of the faster, taller and more aggressive Setanta....lets move forward...and lets try and remember what Setanta's form was like before being rested. Try

After Walks doing his shoulder TWICE upon resuming from injury, despite the medico's giving him the all-clear to resume, forgive me if I don't completely trust their judgement on that one.

The collingwood game is a MUST WIN, and in Walk's first game or so back, he's going to be a bit of a liability until he gets the tempo again. If we pick him so soon, it'll really be to get him up to speed for upcoming weeks. Can we afford to do this against the pies???

Fisher showed something on Saturday, but I'd still have a fit Setanta in ahead of him. If Presti is out, their backline is looking pretty thin... and if Fraser is also out, that means we can afford to have Kruze up forward for decent stints. Fev, Kruezer, and a third marking target (either Fish or Santy) will seriously stretch them to breaking point.

And given the spanking Fev normally gives them, they'll be seriously Fev-centric, so a viable 2nd and 3rd target will be critical to our success.

Win this, and we're in the finals. Win this, and Collingwood probably won't make the top four. Fair incentive there.
