Yes, not good enough - only a 10 goal win... we might end up in 4th or 5 th spot...... bloody Ratten. :garthp: :yikes:

When did i say it wasn't good enough. Stop trying to make this something its not

I clearly said when the boys ran hard, attacked and took the game on we kicked away. They had fun out there when they took it up to the Swans

I noticed that, at halftime I saw five carlton players crying, three desperately unhappy and four writing postcards to their mums saying they wanted to go home, in fact if you record JR's running and play it backwards you get 'I am so sad, please let me run some more!'

Is it getting harder to be negative lately?

Pros : Well , a 10 goal win against a team we haven't beaten in almost a millenium .

Cons : We've got Johnson , they got Rhys Shaw .

PROS:-

JUDD
Give him the brownlow now. God he was good.

FEVOLA
Give him the Coleman! Thought he played a good game today and presented quite well all over the ground.

HOULA
Fevola was right, he is one of the best kicks into the forward line. Still looks low on confidence, but i thought he played a good game.

SIMPSON
If he's not the Vice Captain he bloody well should be.

BEATING SYDNEY AND 3 IN A ROW.
How good is it? FINALLY!

CHANGE OF PLAY
I'm really not sure what happened in the last QTR. We hadn't dominated all day (Sydney were well ahead on dissposals, but that's largly thanks to the shit style of football they play) but yet we just out-did them in the last. We looked faster and more effective than we have in months!

Plus, we had forwards at home.
For a good half of football, we were kicking to Eddie Betts as a CHF with Fevola the only man inside50.
And we flooded all too much, yet not once in the last did we resort to that.

A good (and very much welcomed) change in tactics from Ratts.

KREUZER
Great cameo by the kid today. He has the heart and courage to match his size. Awesome player!

NOTE:-
Whilst Russell wasn't so much a PRO today, i thought i'd give him a mention because even though he didn't do much, he at least never dropped his head. Something he quite often does. Hope his confidence remains wehere it is.

CONS:

BOORING!
Crap booring poo-poo football from both teams and coaches for a good half of the game. That kind of play is killing this game!

UMPS
God their useless. Just utter utter crap. How was that Jordan Russell decision? Where the hell did he have prior opportunity. Yarren was clearly held in front of goal and was given nothing! Bloody hell!

A great example of why more security is so badly needed at AFL games  .

Actually, I thought we ran less with the footy and kicked more to position. The players may have run more WITHOUT the footy, if that's what you meant. They certainly made position better in any regard.

Not sure if we have a deputy vice captain as well. But if we ever revert to the traditional leadership structure, you'd have to think Judd, Simmo and Carazzo would make a pretty good leadership trio. Both for performance on the ground. But also for character and work ethic on the training track.

And then with Murphy, Gibbs and Kreuzer to come in the future. Our leadership stocks look the healthiest they have since Sticks ruled the roost. Now that's a real PRO.

Two highlights for me worth reiterating over & above the general gist of this:

1. Hampson's third quarter.
To stop opposition run-ons and to wrest games away when close you need a key ruckman, one who can win clearances for you and one who can make the decisive tap. Against very very good opposition, Hampson was a key to our turnaround. he let our mids get their hands on the ball.

2. Anderson's flexibility.
Anderson has pace but can play pretty tall. He is an interesting combination, and while you're all dropping him for this week, I thought he was very good in the second half. He allowed Ratten defensive flexibility and the reshuffle that we needed after hartlett got beaten by White.
