Surely people have noticed almost every time Carlton is firing at its finest (2nd half v sydney/st. kilda) Kade is always playing great. I think he is a very important player for us, as he can provide the quick runs into the forward line, and it seems like the whole team tries to keep up. And when we are moving the ball quickly through the center is when we play our best football. He has his problems in that he CAN go a bit missing for whole games at times but he is definitely a player that if we can get playing 100% for weeks on end will be an unlikely (for his low pick/slow start) star.

Surely i'm not the only one noticing the Simpson on -> team on pattern

He is the barometer -

When Simmo kicks in

Carlton kicks in

It's his ability to run at the defence - only other players we have who do that are Bower and Judd

Nah, he got a mention as "the barometer" in the TV commentary yesterday.

I'm a big fan of Simmo, but like a lot of lefties he just needs to back himself on his right foot more often. His kicking on his right has been okay on the few times he has used it. Just back yourself Kade.

What I love about him is that he puts in %110 everytime. Not afraid to go in hard, and uses the ball really well. I'm happy to say I couldn't say this about him early in the year. But he really has shown his class lately.

Similarity with Craig Bradley - when he played well, so did we.

What Bateman is to Hawthorn, Simmo is to Carlton.

He is the barometer of our running game.

Very good post and very true.

His run is crucial to us.

Read a week or two ago, the opposition coach said Simmo would be a player they would lock down on.

Simmo's definitely one of our barometers. Our ball movement certainly looks a helluva lot better when he uses his run and dash to set up our attacks. Fantastic to watch when he's streaming down the ground in full flight!!... and it certainly beats watching him hold the ball up lol :yikes:

Just needs to add more consistency. Has tended to start the season off pretty slowly in the past few years before coming good. Not sure whether this is a fitness issue or not.

..definately a line-breaker, plus he tends to kick long too, so he really helps get past a zoning defense.. ..i like him playing off a wing where he can drift back and play 1/4 role.. ..t-bird's playing great as the 3rd man up/incoming mark interceptor.. ..we should make sure that Simmo feeds off thorny's interceptions..

Simmo's got the spring in his step back after what I thought was a slower than normal start to the year.

Very important to our team when we are in attacking mode.
