I know he kicked 3 goals at a crucial time, but Fisher was very very ordinary for the other 110 minutes of the game.

Setanta offers much, much more then Fisher and I dont think we can carry them both in the forward line.

If Irish is fit....

In: Setanta
Out: Fisher

I felt much the same, but it won't happen.

I think the timing's ideal, especially given the reports of Brown being a possible out, it'd be a real chance to stretch their defence.

(On BF I'm reading that Presti may be a possible out)

Can't possibly see Fisher getting dropped after his performance yesterday

I would look at 3 changes:

In: Walker, Carlos and Jamo
Out: Anderson, Hartlett and Bentley

Anderson survives if Carlos isn't available.

Pies have just enough pace to expose Fisher; needs to be taken out of the team.

Let's get out the crystal ball...

The scene: Wednesday 22nd July, 7:00 PM. The Carlton Match Committee convene after some prime rib, washed down with a glass of the blood of many dark grapes.
Ratts: But we kicked 9 goals to zip in the last quarter, how can you change a winning formula?
Sticks: Fair enough. All those in favour of no change say 'I'.
All in room: I
Sticks: All opposed?
[Muffled voice of Synbad is heard]
Sticks: No change it is.

In all seriousness, room needs to be made for Setanta, Jamison (is it his appendix or adductor?) if he's right and probably Walker. Joseph needs to be monitored over the week.

In: Setanta, Jamison, Walker
Out: Bentley, Hartlett, Fisher

As a general rule I am not a fan of Fisher, but would be harsh to drop him after yesterday, although he did little outside of his purple patch.

Too short a turn around for Walker. One game back and a five day break might be asking a bit too much.

They seem to think he's in prime shape. If so he can survive a five-day break after a VFL hit out.

Tend to agree. Commentary today suggesting he's rusty which is expected of course.

Ants rested stevo for most of the last qtr suggesting he's a good chance to be selected

fisher kicked 3 goals and from memory contributed to at least another goal or two (ie first of the 2nd half). Also marking was reported to have improved.

Yet people still want him dropped?

Against Sydney the matchups favoured him and he could chase down a lot of the play. Against Collingwood he won't have that same set of opportunities. If the MC have a clue about matchups and Setanta is right, they will drop him.

I think you have to stick with Fisher now. All I remember when Setanta was up there is him getting in the way of Fev. It's a tough one, but I think Fisher can do the job.

In: Stevens, Jamison, O'hAilpin
Out: Anderson, Hartlett, Bentley

Not really like-for-like, but I think this would be effective.

Walker needs at least another week at VFL.

Stevens not even in consideration based on his efforts for the Bullants today IMO.

After watching the Bullants today, I'd be pretty reluctant to play Stevens

Didn't do much, was tagged out of it by a VFL player

A run in the 2's tells us a lot about senior players. Seems Stevo has seen it as an excuse to give up. Hope this isn't the case.

Didn't get much of it and his disposals were often ineffective.
