Is it just me or does it seem like Ratts is in a rush to get Walker back into the side?

We are definitely missing his polished skills, and has been short a big mobile fella since Waite got injured...

Quote:
"He could be one week (away)," Ratten said at Visy Park today.

"If he impresses straight up, he might be in the following week.

"His fitness is not a worry for us. He's probably nearly the fittest at the club, even fitter than Juddy.

"It's just more that contact on the shoulder to make sure he gets through and gets a bit of confidence from it."

...best of luck Walks, hope you slide straight back into the team and make an immediate impact.

Was dreaming of his dash down the wing last night. If we lack anything at present it's Walker and Waite taking the game on and providing an X factor in our line up. Hope he is back against Collingwood.

I've twice dreamed about Bower of late. Similar to the two above is he. Freaky.

Walker and Waite in the same side...

...I'd love to know how many games they have played together in, say, the last 3 years.

Best itìs not much.

Blueseum?!

Next year with the younger fellas coming on, and hopefully a fit Walker and Waite to add to the side...

Does anyone else think it will be a pretty unlikely that they would rush Walker into the side based off of 1 game in the Ants, considering it will be a 6 day turn around from the Ants on Sunday and Pies the next Saturday ??? Why rush him back when he was unlikely to play this season not too long ago ??? Esp considering how physical a game the Collingwood game is likely to be.

When do the Ants play next week ??? I would prefer to give him 2 games in the Ants and see him come back in rd 18 against the Kangaroos. It will be a less physical game and he will still have 5 games running into the finals to get up to speed.

Coryne, like Ratts said, fitness definitely isn't an issue - and they obviously wouldn't consider him if his shoulder wasn't 100%... it's mainly the confidence issue for Walks personally. If he doesn't hold back and takes a few bumps with no issues in the Ants, as long as they are happy with him having no match practice he should play...

I heard a radio report about AW on my drive home tonight. It made me feel this good...

Really hope 1AW is back, fit and firing for the rest of this year and many years after.

For a team seriously lacking run from defence (or relying on Armfield to provide it), the thought of a half back line reading Walker, Waite, Bower, makes me go hard.

How's the roar from the crowd, considering it was a reserve's game :smoking:

..let him brush away the cobwebs for a game in the ressies, it's all he needs.. ..fitness definately not an issue, probably our fittest on the list, above even juddles and carrots.. ..plays with hardness and urgency, would definately utilise him off the HFF and rotate thru the guts, and don't give him a specific role. ..let him attack the ball and play on natural instinct.. ..as others have been screaming for years now.. ..unleash him..

I think we should leave him in the forward line for the rest of his career. He is the the perfect replacement for Fev in 3 or 4 years but in the mean time he is the perfect half forward we have been looking for.

Cannot agree more...if Walks comes in and Ratts gives him a tagging role...I promise the 'Ratts is clearly not the man IMO' thread will break JR's page record....

Just needs a BOG within two weeks of getting in the ones so he won't be written off as a hack by some of the more verbose posters on TC

He [REDACTED] his @#$%&! shoulder in the Ants in the first place this year - why not bring him back straight away and play him off the bench - his rusty disposal couldnt be worse than Armys.

Banno will be over the moon that Walks is set to return and won't be around as much, especially our next interstate trip
