I think I deserve a big thanks for creating this thread - and spurring the boy to put in a decent performance.

I'll just leave these words in this thread:
"...the man who really counts in the world is the doer, not the mere critic-the man who actually does the work, even if roughly and imperfectly, not the man who only talks or writes about how it ought to be done." - Theodore Roosevelt, 1891
Shouldn't this quote be in hundreds of other threads?! Get to work, KK...
...oh, and - keeping in mind that I created this topic just because (first thread I've ever created that could be remotely considered shitcanning) - isn't it funny how a player throws in two decent performances in a row, and the TC chorus jumps up and cries 'Ha! We were right! Ha! Extend his contract! (etc.)'...
Sure credit where it is due, but two good games in a row doe not a champion make. If he continues playing this brand of football until the end of the year - I'll get off the fence and jump on the bandwagon.
Still - interesting how I've created so many different threads, about so many different topics... the only one that posters have really responded to is the one about JR.
Sparky,
You were not "on the fence" -
You were s...-canning JR.
Don't try to change the facts.
kkk,
...umm, sorry - do i know you?!
guess you didn't read my earlier post then.
stating that i didn't see any recent performances, was only stating my preference between the two players - and how
i should have known it would turn into that sort of thread, but didn't and was bored and on holidays.
in case you missed it... read the opening thread post first - then:
(this is Page 3 considering you missed it the first time, i'll make it easier for you...)

Ok. I was clearly trying to state my preference out of two of our players.
Before you go mentioning positions, I was more referring to football nous, athleticism, crap like that. Not rebounding from defence or finding space on the wing.
I was just saying that if I had to choose between the two, who I'd prefer. Just like comparing Bannister and Wiggins or Stevens and Houla.
In all truth though, I'm overseas - didn't even see the game (and therefor didn't mention of) but that said, one game doesn't make a player.
You think he's taken the next step? Good for you and a pat on the back for JR.
Think he's hopeless? All the more power for speaking your mind in a very difficult environ/forum.
I have my opinion and I posted it just because I was bored and on holidays. Should have known it would become a shitcanning thread... And to think that if TalkingPlayers was still around it would have been moved and forgotten.
Peace out.
I'm not a shitcanner, I'm a realist... JR has a ways to go yet before proving himself.
We've seen players like Bower, Grigg and Hammer take their chance by the scruff of the neck and, hell admit it - get to the point where we are bemoaning their being injured and unable to play.
For me at least, and certainly others I'm sure - where others have taken their chance, it seems that many times JR has lost his footing and toppled over.
It's great to see his strung a few decent games in a row together, and I DO hope he goes on with it but remember...
...it's exactly 4 years Round 15 since his first AFL game.
NOBODY can bemoan supporters not wanting to see some signs now, even giving the boy the concession of a few years experience under the belt.
I hope it's not, but sometimes it feels like the old Livingston/Prendergast thing all over again.
The same buffoons who jump up and cheer in the face of people who doubt JR when he puts in a decent game or two - many of them I remember from TC/TBV championing Livo and Prenda - 'give him one more year'...
Thankfully JR still has some time on his hands.
