He went off in every quarter of that game. He was getting his lower back rubbed.

he went shortly after some 'efforts' and was on the phone to ratts. Combine that with post match interview admissions by Fev that he was at times too selfish/not team orientated within the game

But thats ok - he kicked 9.1 - all is right with the world...

OTC last night, Hirdy said Fev would be a good fit at the Swans, and IIRC expects them to have a crack
at him.
Healy poo pooed that, saying Fev loves the Blues and will be a one team Bluebagger for life.
I guess time will tell. As I said in an earlier post , who would know what goes on in Fev's mind?

If the Swans don't make a HUGE play for him they are mad. Their gameplan and the SCG are made for full-forwards and that is why they have always had a good one, since the days of Capper. If he can kick a ton, Fev could kick 150 and there is the carrot.
We need Fev to win games, it seems but if he weren't there, we wold have to develop a different approach. In a few months we will have Warnock and Hampson rucking and Kreuzer at CHF or in the pocket. Fev has a history of playing ten-pin-bowling with our forwards and we don't need Kreuzer injured by friendly fore. Setanta being the tough nut he is probably saved him from a more serious injury than he apparently sustained.
I believe we can sustain the loss of Fev in the medium term if it means we gain from the trade. I am sure the St Kilda fans were up in arms when Lockett left but they survived.
Everything is for sale if the price is right. If they want him badly enough, if (a big 'if') he wants to go, if we can get a player and a top ten pick, we should consider it as an option.
If not, so be it. We win both ways.

There is a big hole in the going to the Swans theory,

Fev WILL NOT leave his kids behind. Period. While Alex was mildly interested in a Sydney move a couple of years ago, not sure she is now.

You don't think there are opportunities in Sydney for a girl like Alex, BM?

What if Sydney said they'd give him $600 PA on a 4 year deal? Do you think Alex might think about it?

I wanna know what Carro thinks, 'cause the direct opposite to that, is what will happen.

As for what we'd do - we'll we're up there in the top 5 clubs for I50s, so supply isn't our problem.

Hutchy brought this up last night on Footy Classified.
Tried to pump it up, Swans will have a big crack , ra ra ra..
Garry Lyon asked why Fev would go leaving behind Judd, Murphy, Gibbs etc to go Sydney that will struggle. Hutchy said "He wouldn't, but that doesnt mean Sydney won't have acrack"

Killed the discussion right there.

This is a nothing story, created out of thin air. That's why this is a nothing thread. It is built on BS.

I don't think they were too far apart when Fev's taddies reached their final destination.

She is pregnant with their second child after a reconcilliation earlier in the year.

They have been estranged since but there is a rumour they are back together now.

So yes, Duke in order for her to get pregnant they did get back together.

It's not as if we'd be kicking to no one....other players would take his spot and we'd kick it to them.

yeah but they have to be able to mark the ball running at full speed with some chop hot on their tail then go back and drill it from 60 metres out deep in the pocket with all the filth yelling and screaming in their ears!
struggling to think of players on the carlton list who could do that!
we need fev whether he's kicking goals or not he's always going to take the 2 best opposition defenders its up 2 the rest of the boys 2 stand up, demand the football and perform for the team!

Chicken or the Egg?

Do we continually kick to Fev because he scores, or does he score because we continually kick to him?

If we traded him, would we lose 80 goals a year? Or would the fact that every other option in the team would automatically get 60% more delivery mean that our scoring would be more evenly spread?

Does Geelong (as a team) score much less in this era without a key forward target, as they did when they had one of the very greatest in GAB Senior?

Who's the last Premiership team with a single dominant forward? Is having such a set-up conducive to playing finals-winning football?

Fev's insanely talented, but if you traded him according to a strict plan of the structure you wanted to create, and got picks/players in return that help you achieve that end, I'd have no problem with a trade.

Of course, the big factor (and one that none of us could possibly know enough to comment on) is how healthy the culture is amongst the playing group, and how much a part of that Fev is. Assuming we all want the players to play for each other in a selfless way, similar to the way Geelong, St Kilda, Adelaide and in their day Sydney did... does Fev help or hinder that process?

THAT would be my key criteria. But to be honest, I wouldn't have a bloody clue. That's what Ratten, Icke and co. are paid to know. Obviously there's a problem, because guys like Stevens just wouldn't be allowed to get overweight mid-season at one of the aforementioned clubs. But is Fev part of the problem, or just an easy target?

Dunno.

Well put agree 100%
