So who won ? Reading half the negative posts here one would think we got smashed.

Sure it wasn't pretty, sure our last quarter we looked tired, but FFS people....we won !

Carlton are in the 8. We were missing half our defence & a CHF. And we won !

Love the positive vibes....I wonder if the players pick up on them....

We are just in the 8, and based on our performances of the last 2 weeks, I can't confidently say we will be there come round 22. That is why you are seeing some negative vibes.

Melvey really telegraphed that one, didn't he.

A poster above who mentioned if we win next week that'll make it 3 in a row reminded me of a line from the classic baseball film 'Major League' in which Lou, the Indians manager, is explaining to the team the notion and positivity of a winning streak:

"OK guys, we've won two in a row, if we win tonight that's called a winning streak. It has happened before"

actually, now that I think of it that quote was probably in the second, not so good, Major League. not to worry, the first one is still a classic.

Carlton 2012: Lets remind them why they once feared the Dark.

Ugly win but I'll take the four points...Fev was great but the young tigers forward line missed easy shots that could have spoiled our day. I remain unconvinced about the game plan and certain players.....

We have played very poorly over the past 3 weeks, yet have won 2 from 3. The exciting thing to me is that we are still winning yet we all know that we are playing well below our best and that there is a lot of improvement available as we hopefully serge into the finals.

We have played very well in patches over the past couple of weeks, I think people are forgetting we got the margin out to 40 odd points in the last quarter and if we didn't have the short Perth trip then perhaps we could have won by closer to 10 goals with a fitter team in the last term.

I was not overly confident going into the game and I'm just happy to walk away with the win.

Looking forward to another challenge next week against a team who haven't been traveling well but are a major bogey team. Hopefully we can wipe that record clean.

Go figure we knock off Richmond by a similar margin that Adelaide did, yet Adelaide are flogging Freo by 100pts.

In one way I can understand the angst....but in reality I can't...

The game was pretty ugly, but it was a shite day in Melb...that wind almost blew us off the 3rd deck a number of times.

As mentioned before we had a a trip to Perth, and a hard fought win...followed by a 6 day break. we lost one of our big men who had a great game last week. By the last quarter we looked stuffed.

But we won!

We managed to hold off any attacks the tiggers made. Despite my negativity at the time (the last few years have worn me down) I never really felt that we were in danger of losing that game.

We made some terrible skill errors, some terrible decisions, but the team of 2007-08 would have lost that game.

And some of those getting blasted here made some mistakes, but also did some really good things.

I reckon Grigg showed some good signs today...after an interrupted season he may be just about to run into some form...

Yep, we should have played Waite, Walker, Austin and Bower today instead.

Another who suffers from selective reading.

Listen if you're happy to prance around as if things are all fine and dandy thats your issue........... I know what i know and its far from that.

I've written my share fair of positives posts on this site. Its not my fault you have nothing better to do than go to the effort reading mine and jump on the negative ones.

A pompous prick....... you got me in one

Was that the movie with Charlie Sheen and the "wild thing" music? If so - yes a classic. BTW we won coming back from WA.

Next week we have Sydney at home

I am hoping we play a final against the Pies, and win....

Some people around here know exactly which side their bread is buttered on, if that was not painfully obvious already.

Armfield, Joseph, Kreuzer, Hampson.

All of them have dropped into defence or played deep in defence in the seniors. I have no problem with keeping Anderson down there but Johnson has shown that he is a wingman, and a pretty good one at that. What's he doing on the half-back flank??

The game was defintely a bit bleh, but in the end who cares?

I laugh around here because for years we have heard some of the whiners complain that we are not like Adelaide and Sydney. Then we go and grind out a boring, uninspiring victory just like Sydney or Adelaide, and the same whiners come on here and complain that we aren't putting bottom four sides away like Geelong would. The bar keeps changing. That's all well and good, but it means I don't put much credence in what they are saying.

Look, I am to be convinced that all is well at Carlton. We seem to be playing without confidence. But we managed to turn yesterday into a pretty routine victory, and it has been over a decade since we were able to claim routine victories. To me, we looked like a side who was focused on the upcoming fortnight, and not the fortnight we have just endured. I think we have at least set ourselves up to make sure we have our sights well and truly on the Swans and Collingwood. Let's revisit where the club is at after those matches.

Did you know Hartlett would be our 7th string key defender if everyone was available at selection IMO?
