Nah, dont take much notice of DUC...

But seriously this has been a problem for quite a long time and we dont seem to be improving at all IMO.

We do not take advantage of the rule which allows you to bring the ball in quickly. I'm not sure how you woud describe kicking to contests repeatedly due to setting up too slow after kick ins ...but I might call that not having a clear plan or setup.

Again I may be wrong but based on our continuing problems with kickins and the many turnovers which have lead to goals scored against us when attempting to kick out...you would have to say that if it is a work in progress then the guys working on it may need looking at as well...unless of course they are a work in progress as well.. :?

How rude.

What post did I post and what did I say?

Sorry DUC. Got you and 4thChicken mixed up.

But it was a good fact and something you probably would have said anyway

it was actually mentioned during the coverage that we have one of the better kickout 'strategies'/success rates (ie in terms of % of kickouts converted to goals.

and in the freo game it was commented how well we setup from the boundary throwins to shark the opposition ruckman

I think they meant our kick outs to their goals.. not our goals....

I find that very hard to believe...of course I'm a little short sighted so maybe I'm seeing things

Fellas, 4thChicken's post was from June 2008!! Look at the dates, this is an old thread.

I don't know what the stats are this year, and it doesn;t really matter.

If you are going along to watch the Blues live every week this year, and you haven't come to the conclusion that our kickout plans have been deplorable, you are either blind or just don't understand footy.

Funny man J&K.

For the record I really don't know enough about kick outs to know whether we do it right. Having said that, occassionally I would love someone to torpedo the ball 65m into the waiting arms of the Kreuzerman.

That seems to be the new posting fad.
Agree with my view or "your just dont understand footy"

The reality is very few teams score from kick outs. Look at the champion data stats and you'll see the truth.
Of course there are some people here who know better than the official AFL stats but thats to be expected.
On Sunday, Carltons zone from the kickouts was excellent. We held up Freo and retained the ball in our forward line more often than not.

Obvious mprovement. That tells me the coaching staff are getting the message across.
