But now is not the time to make the final judgement on that. By all means, put out feelers, keep an eye on things, but the end of the season - hopefully that won't be until the end of September - is the time to make the final say.

What's more, if it becomes obvious that immediate moves are being prepared, then what's going to happen? I can guarantee that the only thing which will happen is Ratts will coach for his job, and that will be a massive retrograde step, and put us seasons back.

Ive been to the Hawthorn game, the Richmond game, the Essendon* game this year.

Adelaide, Geelong, Melbourne and Port game last year

What I see is a side developing their football. Not all they do comes off all the time, but I am not stuck on small things which go wrong in games.

I can only get away a few times a year when our boys have byes. I am used to looking at the whole games we ( Alpine Eagles play) and forming in my mind trends I see.

I can see a trend in the few Carlton games from last year to this year and I like what I see. It is called development.

I wrote a week ago about team ethic and playing for each other. Dont underestimate it
