Not sure if Robbo still has another week on his suspension with the Ants having a bye this week.

Austin's suspension might be beneficial to him.

Scotto should come back for Aussie and Robbo for Bentley if he is eligible to play.

Article in the Australian mentions that both Tex and 206 will be back next week in the Ants as they have bye this week. If no bye, Tex would have played this week for sure and 206 the following week.

Wiggins is still experiencing a hammy strain.

Robbo has served his 2 week suspension.

 :thanks:

Joseph comment is garbage. Our best tagger/small backman. Quick and strong. Won Rising star nomination 2 rounds ago. Why would he be anywhere near danger???

That's why I didn't post the article. Denham = BS

He did have a quiet game last week but I think he has enough runs on the board this year to keep him in the side

Denham speculated quite a bit in that article so I only used the quotes from Icke.

Re AJ he should definitely be playing on Saturday as one quiet game by his standards is not worth a demotion. He was probably due for a quiet one anyway.

we need guys like garlett. the game is run and carry speed across the ground. with rotations we now need more speed than ever. at the moment we are too slow and too tall. guys like garlett, robinson, yarran, joseph, anderson, betts, ellard need to stand up if we are going to be a top side. guys like fisher, houlihan, stevens, scotland, bannister, bentley, wiggins will only get found out as the game gets quicker and they get slower.

i haven't had a chance to watch the replay yet but did joseph play on ballantyne last week? it's the only reason i can think of why denham would write that garbage.

he is usually fairly accurate. joseph has been fantastic this year but has struggled the last few weeks. not unusal for a kid in his first year of afl. maybe, they feel he needs a break?

He won NRS nomination against Milne 2 weeks ago, held Lovett quiet in a Essendon* demolition 1 week ago and had a bad 1st half on Sunday. If thats struggling for a few weeks, then I am lost

Joseph looked physically tired against Freo, but that may have been the effect of the long stops. Would be interesting to see how they manage him this week and what they do at the selection table.

The words on Bower appear to be coming from the coach's mouth but he'd be two matches away, surely.

your lost. st kilda was a month ago. held lovett quiet? the guy tore us apart and was nearly BOG. 20 disposals and 3 goals vs 2 kicks and 6 handballs.

So your counting the rest break as when Joseph was struggling.
2 matches ago was St Kilda
Against Essendon*, he held Lovett till half time, after the flood gates opened Lovett got free, esp in the last 1/4.

we're lucky with joseph because when we drafted him, there'd have been no-one thinking he'd play 14games to start the season. . .we could have hoped he managed 6games and that is a great return considering he's a rookie listed player. . considering he could get struck down with injury tomorrow (touch wood) and still end the season having played more games than natanaui, vickery, yarran and maybe grimes and watts means he's already a success story this year.

The past 2 weeks i have noticed his performance lower than the weeks prior, but he's a dozen games into his career so there's no reason to call for his head yet. . If he starts slowing down then maybe rest him but i think he's still in our best 22 so lets get behind the lad and revel in his rapid development. . Id argue he's as good a first year player we've had since marc murphy.

Joseph was picked up in the 2007 rookie draft and it is his second year on the list.
But yes he has come along very well this year.

..i hear what yer sayin', but for me it's mostly about seniors.. ..and for the year so far AJ's been very impressive.. ..it could just as easily have been a mismatch for him, vs him being genuinely down on form.. ..i thought his fitness was one of his strengths so i don't think he needs a rest.. ..maybe a switch of use, and throw him into FP instead of BP to give us real defensive pressure and tackling in our F50..

Wiggins is still experiencing a hammy strain.

Not sure why Robbo is being pumped up as a possible inclusion this week. He hasn't played a game for a month and his last outing in the VFL was an undisciplined effort. He's a first year player, I'd like to see him earn his spot back in the side with a solid couple of games in the VFL.

BTW, not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but Martin Pike said on SEN on Monday night that he's looking forward to coaching the Bullants' Reserves game after the bye because he will most likely have both Warnock and Jacobs in the side...

"We won't lose a stoppage that day, that's for sure!" I think were his exact words...

I have had a look at the replay of the Freo game a few times with a few of the punting fellas and I have to say at this stage, other than Austin our suspended (for the same period as Brennan's headbutt :banghead: ) I can't see any need to change the team.

I thought Bentley was good and needs to adapt to the pace of the game and not get too ahead of himself. In other words he needs confidence and time to adjust. I thought Garlett's pressure wasn't counted in the possessions, but jesus he really applied heat in that forwardline and we took advantage of his pressure.

Whilst we lose another tall defender (along with Bower and Waite) Richmone are not the same team as yesteryear with Richo, Ottens and Hall in their forwardline; they seem to be more mobile than tall when you look at Reiwoldt, Morton and any other monkey they dish up.

OUT: Austin

IN: Scotland...whatever the MC reckon....Anderson????

I'm not sure if anyone noticed on Sunday but when the shit hit the fan in the first quater Setanta went back into defence to man up Kepler. When that happened, there was only Fev in the forwardline as atarget...and really nothing happened other than Judd and Houla missing relatively easy shots at goal. IMO, Setanta is a very tall mobile player and should stay forward, despite the fact that I was one of his champions for him to be used down back...that was before Austin stepped up. Austin on Sandilands was great to watch, and Austin is a winner in the backline.

We're coming. Gotta win this week!!!!!!!

Carlton by 69 points.......until I see the selected teams.
