Whats wrong with having a transparent process after the infamous dark years cycle? The clubs was on its knees and called for the supporters to pitch in and help and I think the club owe the supporters no matter how far up or down the food chain a proper process in appointing coaches or anyone else....if Brett Ratten gets the job at the end of that process then fine but Kernahan should have removed himself from the decision making process when a mate was involved in applying.
I was of the belief that Pratt and Swan were in charge of things when Ratten got appointed
Not Sticks
and Pratt was still around when is contract got extended
To many people make things up to suit their own arguments
Its hard following your logic but let me attempt to..
Youre saying Pratt (The man that wanted to go out and buy both Pavlich and Judd "ill buy both of them"is in a position to judge Rattens coaching abilities.
2 Youre saying that Swann would have hired Ratten without a process even if he was at say Richmond or North or West Coast or Collingwood???
Let me throw a scenario at you.......
There is a block of Carlton people who convinced Swann to take Ratts.. blah blah blah.....
He does... knowing if it went belly up Pratt can fix it...
Then Pratt dies... so Swann is left holding the baby cos the block wont fix anything.
Supposing Swan now thinks he needs some new people on the board to break the 'Carlton Boy Block Mentality'... and bring in people who will steady the equilibrium...
Supposing the Block of Carlton people say "Nope... we did the hard work.... why should someone else come in?"
Supposing in Pratts absence there is a lack of disregard to fundamentals both on and off the field... and things are slowly beginning to slip... (Pratts not around remember.. and the boys club becomes more clubby than it was before....
Supposing im telling the truth.....
Or you can suppose im bullshitting!!!
Either way im throwing something up out there.....
And as for the whiteant comment... thats ridiculous!!!
Everybody loves the club... its all about whats best for the club.....
A culture from the 70s and 80s or a culture that will determine who we will recreate ourselves into going forward...
Ratts is a by product of the overall problem....
Now you think about how the club was being steadied prior to Pratts passing on and since...
