If Fremantle dont start favourites for this game something is wrong, we are soooo over rated its not funny. We have done nothing all season. Hence why i always put money on the teams we play against and collect. Examples

Vs Essendon* twice.... Essendon* to win both times odds were over $2.00... jumped on twice and twice collect
Vs Hawthorn we were slight favourites - got on the Hawks... collected
Vs Freo got great odds... $3.00... got on... collect

Ill continue to bet against the heartless Blues

I hope you put your house on the Dockers, champ.

Probably could afford to. He's still an entire housing estate in the positive

We look like such a good team when we move the ball on quickly and use the corridor as much as possible

The second half was a slaughter

Interesting that for all the talk about Fremantle fielding a very 'young and inexperienced' team...Carlton were even younger and less experienced! Over half of the match day 22, 12 players had played less than 50 games and only four had player over 100 games.

When you consider the above, this was quite a good win.

Lets compare ourselves with Freo shall we???

Only Richmond fielded a younger and more inexperienced side than Carlton on the weekend

Not rich enough for me. Carlton have paid for my retirement this year. Remember the game in r3 against the Dons. at 3/4 time, the Dons were $7.00. In the words of Billy Joel, "easy money"

So at 3/4 time, the team in front was paying $7. At least make it sound credible.

Actually they were $8.50 at quarter-time.

judd was sublime. . .but IMO gibbs was far and away best on ground. He got more possies forward of center, delivering the ball inside forward 50. Although granted judd probably started many of those runs by winning the contested footy.

I think carrazzo, murphy, johnson (cant believe ive read reports on the board criticising his performance), russell, o'hailpin, and thornton were all good too.

Thornton's got class, ive always said it, and always been laughed at, but he reads the play so well. And his only downfall is when playing one on one, and we've established since '06 he isnt a fullback. He just stabilised things downback so well.

Fev's body language was good. I'd like to see more praise heading his way for his efforts in the first quarter with his inensity and tackling pressure when no-one else was doing much. Sure he gave away a free kick, but he showed some fight when no-one else did.

Simmo's first half was typical average simmo, his opponent dominated. But his 2nd half, particularly last quarter was very very good.

Johnson's match was great IMO. Plenty of tackles, and kicked an effing special goal in the last quarter with game on the line.

Kreuzer should get some praise also, his 13hitouts resulted in 62% hitouts to advantage. Yes sandilands went down injured, but the kreuz also took a great contested mark and yet again his disposal in close contests was great.

I seem to remember them being somewhere between $2 - $3.50 at 3/4 time when they were ahead, according to the odds flashed up on the scoreboard.
Think you might be exaggerating

Also I don't think it was easy money as we looked like we could still hold them off

If you're sitting around putting bets on Carlton's opposition when we're in front at three quarter time, one would have to ask some serious questions about your character.

I agree, some members here seem to have it in for him but he was pretty good.

Mark Austin's progress is an interesting one.

He put his teammates under enormous pressure more than once today and I'd say he owes Army a couple of beers for getting his nose messed up.

His body isn't ready for the body on body contests, but he's pretty good at spoiling. There's loads of potential there, whether its as a CHB or CHF.

He and the umpire got sucked in by Ballantyne. He was actually holding Ballantyne up when he flopped to the ground and got a free kick. Hopefully he learns a lesson from it. The umpiring department need to have a look at how they handle those situations. After he kicked the goal Ballantyne ran up and chested Aussie, if Aussie had done the same he'd have given away another free.

I have to disagree with you there TBB. Aussie has tree trunks for legs, which kept him on his legs when two players were trying to bring him to ground at one stage, they just couldn't budge him. He holds his own in contests relatively well when he doesn't panic and gets his body in the right position.

He's the most promising backman I have seen at Carlton for a while, more so than Jamo IMHO... :smoking:

Ask q's about my character as long as you don't ask questions about the windfall..........it's a social faux pas
