Incredibly soft IMO, should have revoked his life membership. And that word "indefinitely", sham of a word. Bock was suspended "indefinitely" earlier this season for belting his missus, lasted a whole week.

Sticks is making me sicker by the minute.

For some reason I don't think Kernahan has done this off his own back. I reckon the Spew or Swann (I hope) have told him to.

Sticks just has to go....time for someone who actually has presidential credentials to step in. Is that too much to ask!

Discrediting Elliott a higher priority than the truth

Good strong statement, and particularly with Sticks name on it as he is probably the only guy on the committee who has much time for JE or who has had any involvement with him while JE was pres. Hopefully once and for all JE disappears and keeps his gob shut.

I thought it was a bit of a nothing statement, to be honest. Sure the para about Elliott no longer being welcome at the club (for the time being) was good to read, but I reckon the comment could have been more damning towards Elliott. Not to mention being made last week.

I appreciate the club probably wanted to carry out its "investigation" before making a statement, but to the best of my knowledge no communication from the club ever informed the members and greater public that an investigation was underway. But I've been a bit out of the loop lately, so may have missed it if it was.

Never mind that now, the statement is made and we should move on.

I agree, Camel.
What he should have said, is, " Thanks for helping me get Dick over to the club when nobody else could. Now we're out of the mire financially and Dick's passed on, you can piss off."
As if the club is going to conduct an internal investigation that would result in Collins or Gough admitting they had paid anyone off.
Let's not be too naive here. Even Cronulla denied everything until the evidence was overwhelming. There is no evidence either way here, only the word of 'respected' people.
But I really DO agree that we should move on.

So we conducted an investigation in which the people Elliott discredits deny any knowledge of what he's on about, and then based on this we banish him for slandering these people and the club. So...what more is the Carlton Football Club expected to do Tim? Are Carlton the police force now?

I think it is extremely poor form to 'banish' Elloitt until he recants.

Love him, loathe him or tolerate him, isn't this a classic case of shooting the messenger ... no matter how poorly the message was delivered in the eyes of some.

I didn't support the removal of his name from the stand and I don't support this stunt.

The Club's qualified statement is just arse covering and in my opinion does little to dispel any doubts about the past and whatever has or hasn't transpired.

It belittles the club more than the man involved.
