Well done to Carlos, seems like all the stuff with Cloke early in the year my have caused a bit of a turnaround for the big fella. He has been so
mis managed its not funny. Shame to lose Asaike...could have been anything

For sure! Every week he has shown flashes of making it. Looked great admittedly against a lesser side, but really think he has played reasonably well the last few weeks. His pace, height and agression will look even better as his skill continues to blossom... gotta love his stutter step kicking for goal!

Just shows when the team looks for him what he can do ... ITS A BIG YES ... give him another contract ... truly believe he can hold down CHF until the cruise missile is ready! At the end of the day he is a better depth filler than Cloke will ever be ... but have to say I am starting to develope man love for him after today ... GO IRISH

Just let the big guy play forward and have the mids honour his leads and the rest should take care of itself.

He played well yesterday and kicked four goals - probably should have had 5 or 6
But lets not forget if we are going to be critical of Fev for allowing his opponent to run off him and have 20 possessions we have to be just as harsh on Ohailpin - His opponent Grover had 26 touches yesterday and was very good at leaving Santy and chopping out Fev.

He was good going one way but the last thing we need is another forward allowing his man to rack up touches - Cloke was lambasted from pillar to post for not applying defensive pressure

He was good but his opponent was close to being their best

Someone tell me again what contract extension we gave cloke? I am just wondering because that is a spot on the list that could go to a kid now that we don't need cloke anymore....

That might be true if Setanta has minimal influence on the game, but by definition, Grover can't have been their best if his opponant kicked 4 (should have been 6), and his team lost by 15.

Really it comes down to hurt factor. If you're kicking goals, and your opponent is not paying your any respect. That's his problem. No-one cares who Fev's opponent is or what he's doing when the team is up and Fev is "on".

BUt when you're having a dog of a day (like Fev last week), and your opponent is running off you, that's your problem. Fev's issue is when he needs to be accountable for his man, he generally can't be arsed.

You also gotta look at the big picture. If Setanta can manage 3-4 goals every week for the rest of the season, how often will his man drop off him to chop Fev our next year? Not very often. Ultimately, that's what we want. But Setanta has to be damaging for it to be a credible threat. So I can live with him being more focused on the offensive side of his game while he builds some street cred.

Didn't see the game but great to hear Setanta is continuing his solid form. If he keeps following instructions, not getting ahead of himself, and as his team mates gain confidence in him hopefully he will get used more which in turn will give Fev more freedom as defenders will be less likely to zone off Setanta if he hurts them on the scoreboard.

I think there seems to have been a coming together with the MC being more encouraging and open minded and Setanta being less resentful and impulsive. His marking has improved enormously and he is clearly our best option for CHF, let's hope he can settle there for the rest of the year. And let's face it, despite constant talk about players who will or won't be good enough if we want to play finals, he would get a game at Geelong at the moment ahead of Hawkins.

In the past we have all either over praised or over criticised. I think we are coming to a consensus about his strengths and weaknesses and his continued improvement. Also yesterday he was playing after getting a very heavy hit against the Dons. I think he will continue to improve and he remains my favourite player.

PS good to hear Aisake has settled back home. Don't want to reopen old wounds, but tall Irish boys might need 5 years development before their future can be called. Anyway it is done now and Aisake is back home. That hurling looks like one wild game judging from Beano's photos.

Really happy with Carlos' form and also good to see that Ratts and the MC stuck to their guns from early in the year when they identified him as playing forward and have stuck with that plan and the faith in both him and his position are starting to pay dividends.

 That's funny.

It was only through absolute necessity, and about 5 weeks too late, that Cloke was given the boot and their prejudices put in the background before Setanta was finally given a fair dinkum go.

The MC can claim pretty much nothing from what Setanta has done. He's had to do it all himself.

And a bad wrap for Stevo.

I reckon Stevo may be at the end of the line DUC. What I like most about the Irishman is his passion. It never dissipates.

Very good point, one of the few in our team to always looks like his ready to spikll blood
for the jumper he wears. Either his blood or his opponents !!

Massive wrap for his fortitude to be where he is right now compared where
he was pre season. He is a tricky match up for any team and he is just playing
smarter i reckon. Really hope they just leave him at CHF for the rest of the year
and show what he can do if the coach backs him in.
Great effort by him on Sunday considering Fev poleaxed him twice the week before.
