Get back into the game by running and getting numbers to the ball and putting pressure on them.

Get back to 2 points and then drop off, no chase no pressure = Freo thinking they can play.

I'm looking at you too Juddy......

Everyone needs to chase and tackle. Ratts can't make them do it. Our leadership group need to be at the forefront and we have a couple of players high up in our B&F who don't chase as hard as they should.

Armfield's poor disposal have allowed Freo 3 shots on goal.

Firstly was at half back...a very simple kick to Judd, under no pressure at all.

A 15 metre kick, most players would hit the target yet he didn't.

Ball thrown in and Freo get a shot from the resultant throw in.

Armfield running through the middle, woeful kick in Fisher or Setanta's direction. Ball rebounded into Freo's 50 for a shot.

Third is that kickout...kicks into the man on the mark.

Such basic errors. I appreciate he's inexperienced but I see nothing to suggest his kicking will improve.

How can we progress with players who are unable to hit basic targets? Forget the ones under pressure, lots of players turn it over. It is the simple kicks that he can't do and it is the costing the team.

Well, we never know - do we? But it seems quite clear that we allowed them space and "retreated" to the defensive 50 from the start. So its either the initial set-up or lack of of motivation / instrution etc. Ratts got it wrong too against the Crows. So dont give me the smart arse attitude - thats reserved for the Sailor man....

Its not a smart arse attitude. You're blaming the coach and now you're telling me you don't know if its the coach or the players.

How about you start. What tactical errors did we make at the start of the game and how were they rectified to allow us to get back into it?
Glad you didn't ask me, I know nothing other than the score due to watching the St.Kilda v Geelong game.

Saints have survived two of the hardest, toughest games ever against Geelong and us. Both almost identical games, Saints ahead, Geelong, like us, continually coming back and just falling short. Thrilling to watch.

the players are responsible for their performance

ratten as their boss is accountable for it

if he cant get the players to run and work for each other he has problems

How much basic skills training is actually done these days? It would appear less and less. It's not like they've got anything else to do with their times, like having a real job, or anything like that.

The basic skills are the "3 r's" of footy. No point training the fancy stuff without those being solid.

Shitful first quarter, salvaged by a better second. But we really needed to go into the main break in the lead I reckon.

Good first half from Gibbs, T-bird and Russell at times, too.

Most everyone else needs to lift their game.

GO BLUES!!!

No, I said something was clearly wrong from the start - and it points back to the set-up, match ups etc. Note: I am NOT a Ratts basher but he has got the set-up wrong before - i.e. against Adelaide and admitted it. And if it all comes down to player attitude / execution then there is something very wrong with the preperation - which is also the coaching staffs responsibility.....

This is looking much like last week. The Freo players are just finding space too easy, everywhere you look there is a Freo player on their own and its killing us.

Our inability to lay a tackle is frustrating to watch. They just shrug tackle after tackle and that last goal was a perfect example.
