Kernahan's influence on a weak Ratten.
Carlton need strong leadership from the coach and the president who should stay completely out of the footy department.
In any event Kerhahan's influence on th footy Deprtment has been through the darkest years on the clubs history.
He is the only survivor of the trumors of the last 14 years other than the 99 grand final. He is starting to smell like Wes Lofts another long term footy depatment survivor.

I wonder if the boys will play like mellow yellows or solo men today?

If the boys don't come out with passion today and win this game, the touring party might not want to come back in a hurry.

I think the most interesting thing about that article is that Ratts said we should have kicked the footy more and then said we will run it more today.
50 cents each way.
If you looked at the Dogs last night you would have seen a good, disciplined team using the footy by foot to destroy the once fabled rolling zone. The ball travels MUCH faster through the air than it does under someone's arm. Run is important but it has to be used strategically and not for its own sake. Kick it to someone. Look up. Stop if necessary or play on if applicable. We have contracted the swine flu bug of overusing handball.
Part of the reason Fev has to contend with three on him is that while we are handballing it around half back or kicking backwards or across the field, the zone is setting up in the back half waiting for a turnover. If we kick it more directly like the Dogs do, we will have better delivery to a more open forward line.
It's Rocket (Eade) science.
Our stats show that when we have used more handballs than kicks, we lose. If we aren't going to learn from stats, why do we keep them? Just for supercoach?
If we win, we go to seventh. If we lose we stay at ninth. That's a recipe for disaster. There is no fear of losing.

..agreed, but the doggies also knew that when their mate marked the ball they all scattered/ran into space so the player marking the ball could afford to wheel about and play on right away.. ..our players mark the ball, and stop, look for options cos they can't auto play on cos they dont have the trust/faith that their team mates will scatter and provide them with quality options before they get run down after playing on..
