Still feeling the effects of 2002??? you cannot be serious.

try feeling the effects of senior players who aren't prepared to do the hard things on the field and lead the way for our kids and a coach who is simply not up to the standard required.

Look at Collingwood tonight. smashed the team that made us look foolish a week ago. why? 1. every player was 100% committed and their leaders did exactly that... lead. and 2. because they had a coach that was able to identify how to beat Essendon* and coach his players to carry out those instructions.

Heard a Collingwood player on the radio earlier today and was asked about how they beat Essendon*. Said that they shut down the corridor and put pressure on them. Its not rocket science, ,maybe Ratten thinks too much when it shoud be a lot simpler.

I watched this game live and you are right. They closed up the corridor and it was game over. The concern has always been that we do things after the fact and not before and what I've found in a lot of our selections is that we end up selecting teams more suited for the week before. In a nutshell it comes down to one word...'re-active'.

Last week at the half time address to the players Ratts instructed his players to let them run through the middle and don't apply any pressure on them . He also told them when ever you get the chance kick it to them or at least make it hard for one of your team mate to get a clear possession and then if all else fail fumble

He is simply a brilliant coach the players followed his instructions to the full

Exactly. Something we havent been able to do for 8 seasons.

As much as we knock Collingwood and they are crap ( I mean even we've beaten them in the last 3 starts) they have managed to string together 6 wins in a row and get their season back on track. We will not have truly turned the corner until we win games on end. A win here and there just won't cut it.

Who knocks collingwood for being crap??? :?

They're a bloody good unit, who have regularly played finals while we've been languishing.

Hate them, but respect them.

Ok it seems its all about making statements this week. Then the stage is truly set for Ratts to make a big statement tomorrow. We are now out of the 8 and MUST win to get back in. We have a clear opportunity to play finals as Hawthorn seemed to have called it a year (the dogs 11 goals up half way thru the second... ) and Richmond are clearly in tanking mode (we play them next week).

Freo are undermanned to the extent where a 10 goal belting should be a walk in the park if we play to some sort of plan and take the game on. Please Ratts...let's keep it real simple this week. No need to tag anybody. Let us just outplay them. This is Ratts chance to inspire the team. We lack inspriration, we lack desire, we lack pride in the jumper and IMO we lack a coach... but funnier things have happened....

John we as Carlton supporters all deep down know they are crap. They are an avergae team who performs consistently over and above expectation probably due to good coaching/tactics.

When they crash out in September again...the crap theory will be re-inforced once again...don't worry. I just used them as a comparison as regards consistency during the season. In no way however will I ever refer to them when talking finals...

Juddy tomorrows line up

10 players less than 50 games
8 players 50 -100
1 player 100-150
3 players 150+

That is one seriously inexperienced line up we have tomorrow

We as supporters cant expect to much surely when you look at that

Not expecting much at all SB. I am hoping though. Hoping for a bit of system and a lot of passion.

Collingwood are a well run club - it's pretty rich for Carlton fans to call a team that makes finals and wins finals (they've won 7 finals since we last played one) crap. They've now gotten themselves into some top form and have won 6 straight - the last time we won 3 straight was 5 years ago. I wouldn't expect them to make the Grand Final but they're giving themselves a chance to have a good crack at it - are Carlton? I've stated the obvious here, but for some reason some Carlton people have a fetish for disrespecting Collingwood and Essendon*.

As JohnM says - hate, but respect. False bravado is a bit lame.

Easy John...remember we are talking about the filth here....relax.

Now what would you call a team then that makes finals consistently but hardly ever wins the big one...so crap is innaccurate...weak?....chokers?....great??? what?... and you dont have to sell me on where we are at in comparison....I'm very well aware....I'd love Carlton to play with some consistency again. The thing is though when we do, we dont go half or 3qtr way....we go all the way.

Kernahan's influence on a weak Ratten.
Carlton need strong leadership from the coach and the president who should stay completely out of the footy department.
In any event Kerhahan's influence on th footy Deprtment has been through the darkest years on the clubs history.
He is the only survivor of the trumors of the last 14 years other than the 99 grand final. He is starting to smell like Wes Lofts another long term footy depatment survivor.

people, take a close look at our bench please... who do we have?

Bentley, Johnson and Hammer..... What does that tell you?

Will these players provide us with run and leg speed?

what will happen when Judd, Murphy and Gibbs Tire and can no longer run?

i seriously pray that We don't get run over in the 2nd half by a Reserve Freo side because two of our senior midfielders are dumped for reasons byeond a Joke..

What has Russell done to win a spot? NOTHING

has people forgotten what Bentley did the last time he played? he went to grab the ball and it just went under him... couldnt even touch it.....

I am So speechless and angry..... but anyways I love my Blue baggers so wish them all the very best and a WIN is a Must no matter what

I watched the Elephant Man tonight. I don't think John Merrick suffered quite the degree of loud bombastic declamations expressed with strong emotion against him as Mr Greg Bentley has in the last 48 hours.

Carlton by 49 points.

Bentley- 2 goals.

J&K i think with the players we have selected, we still have a negative mindset. Bently,Russell,Johnson and Thornton(obv) will all have shut down roles along with the regulars,Joeseph,Armfield,Carazzo and poss` Houlihan.
If we were going all out attack we would have included Yarran,Anderson and maybe Ellard and not dropped Scotland. Would have liked to seen Hartlett in the open spaces at Subi but can`t fault Carlo`s form and Austin needs more senior time.
