Scotland needs to stay. You know he's going to go at the ball every time. And his disposal is good. Unfairly targetted in my opinion.

Stevens... dropping him 'as an example' should have nothing to do with it.

Dropping him purely on form is what we'd be doing.

You want to see how big his cojones are to fight back hard and get selected again. Look at someone like Wiggo, he has been in and out of the team like a yo yo for 5 years. And that's fine, he's a fringe player. But every time he's gone back to the bullants he's gone back with the hunger to get back into the ones. We need that from Stevo.

Absurd if Scotland cops it before Houlihan

I thought Scotty was one of our best on Friday night - when all the rest of the backline were shitting themselves he was a shining light I thought

if Stevens is dropped, that will prove how naive , stupid and unexperienced he is....

Seriously, Carlton Fans drive me mad.... They have memory lapses.. They judge a player based on a week's performance......

Stevens had a terrible game... He still gathered 21 possessions....For those who don't know it, Stevens always plays well interestate and especially in Subiaco. The wide Spaces is where he loves it the most...

To drop him and replace him with hacks like Russell and Johnson is a joke... What will Rusell do better than Stevens? get 10 possessions and 100% efffiency? its not good enough...

Ratten will be react to the Media and make some silly changes by dropping experienced players.

Given that he struggled to move on Friday night doesn't bode well for Sunday and the wide open spaces of Subi.

No one disputes it when a player has a bad game but absolutely nothing worked for him on Friday night and his effort was sub-par.

If he was beaten by a better player then you can't do much about that but he didn't apply the basics of what is expected and for that, coupled withe the fact that he is the VC, he needs to be dropped.

I will be amazed if after coming out and saying that they then proceed to drop Stevens Scotland Houlihan Bannister and have fev out Injured
I suppose we will know soon enough

Houlihan and Bannister definitely need to go; Bannister was accounted for this week and he choked, repeatedly. Houla turned in another dismal performance in front of goal and still needs to learn where to run up forward. Stevens weight is a concern but he was one of many left out of position defensively by a lack of aggression in our chasing. When you've got three blokes flicking the ball to each other in front of you, what exactly are you supposed to do?

Force them to kick. And that was the position he was left in continually on Friday night, as was Judd, as was Murphy, as was Scotland.

Don't forget SB, since the Adelaide game we've brought in Carrazzo and Grigg as well. The whole team needs to use these bigger bodies to straighten the side up; no more of this 'chip wide first, ask questions later' crap.

Stevens has been nothing but insipid all year and i thought he should have been dropped a month ago.

What amazes me is how much of a sheep dog he has been. It wasnt just Friday night but for most of the year. There is also a link between him playing his best games after a spray or criticism in the media. Watch out Fremantle if he gets picked this week.

Has been given a free ride and in my opinion his efforts do nothing but disgrace the Carlton Football Club guernsey.

Blokes who dont give you 100% in every single contest wont take you into September therefore Ratten needs to get tougher irrelevant of who it is.

Neither Stevens nor Scotland would have been among our top 3 players in any game this year in my view.
It's been an amazing fall from grace for the two players who not long ago were probably our two best midfielders.
I still think we are 1 really good inside (young) mid and 1 good (young) KPP off where we need to be.
Rich instead of Yarran, if we had known we'd have got Garlett... retrospect is a wonderful thing.

Stevens was probably our best against Adelaide, but yeh besides that has been pretty disappointing.

I don't know why we would need another inside mid given what we have, but you can never have enough talent in any area of the ground.

Not sure why Yarran isn't afforded more time...imagine being 17 and having to move interstate. No longer in your comfort zone, training every day instead of twice a week. You've had injuries and aren't fit, it would be very difficult.

All you'd be wanting from Yarran at the moment is that he has the hunger to be successful, the rest will follow because he has so much ability.

By the same token big bodied mids aren't too difficult to pick up....there are a few in this years pool, and they are usually ready to step up.....we can get one this year, then still have Yarran's class and silkiness...if the cards fall our way, we might make up for passing on Rich fairly quickly.

I'm sure that's all most people would want atm.

Perhaps a short CFCTV interview might be in order...

Interesting photos in the Hun today showing Ratten & Stevens, seemingly at the time when he was given the bad news. Not happy Jan.

I'd be surprised if he was being given the news out on the ground. After the media speculation it shouldn't have come as a surprise to him anyway.

Stevens to be dropped...wow!?
The coaches would have to really be unhappy with what he did on Friday night for that to be the case.

Perhaps if you are not doing what's asked of you, but not making it count when you are doing your own thing...you will be dropped.?

Makes it even easier if there is the possibility/query about an injury....but then if that was the case, Fev and Stevo (meant Scotto) would be dropped????

Scotland may actually have an injury as I don't think he falls into the "Unhappy coach" category does he?

I guess we'll have to wait until Thursday night

Just realised I'ld written the wrong name.....

wonder who's going to line up on Sunday??
