My version..

The media wielded the axe early in the week with I think it was Mike Sheahan suggesting Brett Ratten was under pressure and the MC and Ratten did what Mike told them including the same players he mentioned.
My point ..is it a one off or will Ratten continue to show the same authority or is it only when the media ie Sheahan tell him to....

Surely you are taking the piss here elwood. Are you saying Ratts gets his coaching tips from Mike Sheehan ?

Hopefully will have some good movement out of the middle and into the forward line this week.

Although I went to training today and Fev went back into the rooms twice with the trainer during the session and Eddie left training early to get work done on his back.

God we sure need to win this week

Been saying that Ratten lacks the hard edge since round 3. The team should have got a solid bake after the first effort against Essendon* not after round 13. It is the coaches responsibility to squeeze the most out of the playing list, Ratten hasn't been anywhere close to doing so.

Yeah, although it's important for Ratts to get the best from the players, I have a problem with professional athletes on great money having to be inspired.

Scotland is the new sacrificial lamb at Carlton (remember r3 against Ess)
I see Browne is afforded the same latitude as Russell
Like I've said in previous posts, one of our major problems is depth (Bentley, Cloke, 'snip' Yarran??????)
The last thing I want to see on Sunday is a win on the back of a Fev big bag of goals. Wins like that are the best wallpaper that cover the deepening cracks at Carlton.
My gut feel-the players are pissed off that people like Scotto and Stevens get the chop and that Fev goes on his bombastic ways unpunished (I love Fev but he is losing me at a great rate of knots)

WTF! I can't believe this - Cloke, Bentley and Johnson all named on the bench. Russell into the starting line-up - what a disgrace!

FINALLY! The match committee have shown some balls and dropped big-name players who haven't been performing. We really needed to swing the axe this week and make a statement about time. Much prefer some of the kids who put in effort getting a game than some of those other guys!

What does Ratten think he is doing? A really important game in the context of the season and he drops some of our most experienced, quality players! This is ludicrous - this will cost us the chance to play finals!

Glad to see Ratten is making people earn a game, rather than just handing it out on reputation.

What happened to taking more experienced teams to play interstate? The match committee is a joke.

Glad to see we have gone for a quicker team, more run and dash and a better ability to pressure and tackle.

What is wrong with some people on here? You are damned if you do and damned if you don't! I really dont understand why most people dont just post their comments 4-5 hours before the teams are named because they will be the same regardless

And oh yeah, regardless of who is named, I just want to see 22 blokes playing for each other and the jumper and get a win - GO BLUES!!!!

Negativity because the opinion differs to yours? I could easily call it reality and not negativity. I'd love the reality to be us playing consistently as a team with a passion for the jumper. Give me that win or lose and I'll jump on your bandwagon...

Have you made one positive comment on this forum yet? Anything constructive? Or have you simply whined like an adolescent teenager with a curfew.

Support the club or at least be constructive with your criticism. It pisses me off when someone feels the need to post every 5 minutes and adds nothing but crap about how the world is ending at Carlton.

We lost one game FFS. We still have a list to work through. I would have liked to have seen Hartlett named, but someone mentioned he was in the re-hab group early in the week.

Lighten the flower up

Club29 and others having a whack at my comments...

I'm saying the media pressure has influenced the coach and MC to make changes.....the general opinion of Brett Ratten is that he is a nice bloke but not hard enough and that Sheahan i think it was alluded to that earlier in the week in an article in the Herald Sun.....
Sheahan suggested some senior players including Scotland and Stevens should be dropped to make a statement....
I want to know are Ratten and the MC serious about discipline and showing some gonads with regards laying down the law to underperforming players or is it just a response to the media scrutiny...and we will only know that over the coming weeks...

Mate don't read my posts if they piss you off...the solution to your frustration is as easy as that.

Santy has been pissing blood
Fev got the sore pinky

the only reason Cloke has been selected is because one of these two isn't going to play

Either that of the MC think he is the man to take on Sandilands

Mate please worry about yourself and dont worry about what I post or what I do...there are mods whose job it is to take care of that. By the way before you make generalised comments go back and read older posts if you're so concerned and then come back to me then.

What has Russell done to earn an automatic selection ahead of someone like Anderson who has at least been performing very well in the 2nds???

Really hope Yarran and Anderson play.
Whilst i think Russell is unfairly maligned because he was a number 9 draft choice, in close to the worst draft pool in 10 years, i do think you have a really valid point about Anderson.

MC's options were narrowed after Fevola declared himself fit, selected himself and announced it to the media.

You'd have thought so.

Well no, it would have been the PERFECT opportunity to make a statement that Fev is not bigger than the club, no matter how much of a walk up started he THINKS he is ............

I reckon had Waite been available they may have had the balls to drop him.

Browney had a bad one last week, but been good other than that. Stiff but a long term player no doubt.

Glad they've made a statement with Stevo (go hard and get 50 possies for the Ants, and you'll be back), and Scotto obviously not right this year with his limited prep. Not unhappy to see JR in at Subi, but PLEASE no Bentley. Would love to see Ando get a run, and hopefully for a few weeks too.

Freo do look very thin. If we're fair dinkum we'll win by 5 snags.
