[quote="Mighty Blues"]I remember Nick Dal Santo being close to winning brownlows in the past......
I also remember the Saints taking a stand last year and saying if your form is not good enough you do not play in the 1's NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE.
Look where Nick Dalsanto is and where the Saints are.....and doesn't it always seem to happen.
quote]

Good example. Fev wants other team members to help him out, block, kick it to his advantage, chase his man down the field, yet when it comes his turn to help out a team mate... no screen for setanta to take the mark running back (whilst running hot also), no fev nails into him with his knee...and then gives him a dirty look as if to say get out of my way. Disgraceful attitude and semmed to wreck setanta's game.

And we have won games this year with little to no influence from fev. Drop him.

I think this would be a good idea as some good things can come out of it...
- Carlton need to show they can win without Fev
- After a terrible team loss, this is one way to force it to the players that they all need to lift to cover the loss of Fev
- Fev needs to know he isn't untouchable
- Ratten and MC needs to show they have balls
- Ratten and Co need to show that they can coach. Drop Fev and win, they would gain back a lot of the respect they would have lost
- Forward opportunities for Setanta, Cloke, Fisher and Yarran
- No more Fev excuses for losing

I doubt we'd get to try Kreuze or Hampson in the forward for meaningful periods as Sandilands can't be ignored, but the Tigers game would be a good opportunity.

Fevola was "dropped" a couple of years ago, I think it was after a particularly poor game against Fremantle.

Apparently he's undergone minor surgery on his hand today, and the club will assess later in the week if he's right. I think we'll see Fev dropped this week, with a convenient excuse to go along with it...

He has flourished under Ratten. 156 goals in 39 games which is exactly 4 goals a game.

My thoughts when I read the article too. Won't have that word omitted next to his name I bet.

I am interested in the prospect of no Fev this week.... it might be a turning point for this team.
But who do you bring in?

Hartlett?
JR?

Sure drop the best full forward in the game.
That's a huge assumption that he's the best in the game. By what criteria? Goals kicked is not the only criteria, see Lockett, Ablett Sr. You start with the assumption that most of us are wrong and go from there :donk:

If he gets dropped without the ommitted part next to his name I will scream ... thats the whole point. If he is injured I want Ratts to comer out and say he would have been dropped anyway!

Make a statement ... show u got a pair. It really has to be done.

Any one of 22 Elwood. That's the point man, Fev is not the only bloke in our team. And if he is, we're screwed.

We play our best footy when we've got 10+ single or multiple goal kickers - not 1 goal kicker with 10 goals.

A couple for Betts, a couple from Fish, 1-2 from Juddy and the same from Murphy. A couple from Gibbs and 1 from Kreuz as well as a single each from Simmo and Hoops. A long bomb from Stevens and big grab and goal from the square by Hammer.

Pretty soon we'll have 16 goals.

Not that hard, really.

Duke, If only it was that easy...if we kicked it to some of those other players you mentioned when Fev was double triple teamed we might do better. Its time the coach who promised us at the strat of the year a new forward like with less emphasis on Fev delivered what he promised. I have seen no change in that.....

Murphy struggles to kick straight and wastes the footy in front of goal, Fisher cant kick over a jam jar and Gibbs is never played in a position where he can kick goals which I find strange considereing he kicked goals for Glenelg and was handy in attack..

Drop Fev/Trade Fev is you wish and I dont but please only do it if you can replace him with something better...

It is a pity Waite is injured

He would make a very good account of himself at FF

I agree with Walls. This was our most important game of the season, and Fev was in sooky la la land. Shocking that a senior player is allowed to get away with that type of behaviour.

You can see the effect it has on the rest of the team .. they look up and see his opponent waltzing down the ground unattended while Fev stands with hands on hips pouting.

He is not a big game player ... he just plays random good games, and they have become less frequent this year.

MC must let him know. LAST.CHANCE.

43 goals in 13 games - 3.3 goals a game. Pffft, we can't win without this "input"?

How many goals did he kick in our first 2 games - 3 or 4? 42 goals we kicked in total for those games.

Recent Freo form has been appalling.

They may not do it for the time being as lack of a Jacobs/Warnock, Waite, Tex does not allow Krooze to sit inside 50 and create havoc. It is very much on the cards though, even before year end.

Krooze, Waite, Eddie, Garlett, Tex, Yarran, Robbo, Hammer etc will be the guys causing havoc up forward in the next few years, so he'll want to extract the digit. Trade Fev for another forward (or pick inside 10) to complement those guys, that's the answer.

+1

He may not kick as many goals but the forward line will function better with Waite inside 50.

Ratts has been reminded in interviews and by Mike and Co that he may be a "little soft" on some senior players. Expect something radical this week.

Pity it took this scrutiny for the penny to drop with him.

Lately, Fev loses us more games than he wins. A little boy in a man's body and will not change. Elementary psychology - "Their (Fev) behaviour will only change if my (the club) behaviour changes". We haven't seen any long term indication that measures put in place are being effective. We see the odd cameo and people get excited about his chases, tackles but that ought to be the norm. Posters have been calling for him to be traded - no one will want him as he is a liability at the moment. He is paid to perform as a member of the team and he is not, as seen so blatantly last Friday.

No one would EVER give up a top 10 for Fev. The best you could expect would be a pick in the 30s, or a like-for-like player (which may be hard to find).
