10 minute mark of the last.

Seeya later.

Got a dream run out of the carpark and home.

If I see a crap film, I'll leave early.

Well,
if your team does an Elvis and leaves the building at half time.then its only fair that you go home too, and stuff yourself with peanut butter sandwiches.
If you feel you are working harder than your team as a supporter, then you can leave whenever you *@# well like..and....you should also receive a hand written letter in the mail from your beloved team and coach, thanking you for showing up each week, for your passion and belief, apologising, and promising from now on, to play as a TEAM (especially Fev) and to try their guts out for an entire game.

Yep, through the seven years of hell being a card-carrying member of the Baggers, through rain, hail, sleet, the wind chill, I never left early..........until last night, that is.

Just to see efforts put on by Stevens and Fevola when half of the 83,000 strong crowd would've gladly shown them the ropes made me, well, furious- no matter how things are going against you, just fight, just fight, will you?!!! Grrrrrr......... :hitcomputer: :banghead:

QFT

Lovett's goal out of mid air was enough for me. Then I stood on Richmond station for 30 mins and ended up catching the train with those who stayed until the end. Gotta love our public transport system. :donk:

I stayed til the end last night, but wouldn't blame anyone for leaving early.

Seriously questioning whether I can be bothered going the rest of the year.

I will forgive a lot, but last night was unforgivable.

Yep, I've felt many emotions as a Carlton man over the years. Joy, sorrow, ecstasy, utter devastation, the list goes on. Never in my life though have I felt embarrassed. I guess there is a first time for everything.

The standing ovation for Lovett as he came off right in front of me on the members wing was the straw that broke the camels back so to speak.

Same here, Im in my late teens too.

I can only ever remember carlton games from the start of the bad old years onwards.

I do get jealous, very much so, of all the people who were a part of those powerhouse years.

Saw thousands and thousands of supporters leaving early last night and I don't have a problem with it as I've done it a couple of times too but only when I went to games with Carlton supporting mates.

But last night I was sitting with two Essendon* mates, and no Carlton supporters with me so I sat through the whole thing because I didn't want to walk out in front of them and give up on the team (if that makes sense). I cheered the last of our goals and the last efforts of Kreuzer and Judd despite being down.

I sat through their constant barbs of "catch the early train, it's leaving soon" in the last quarter.

Then I walked through the 'G with the Essendon* song ringing in my ears.

Then the walk to Richmond station with the two mates and having them rub the win in.

Then to top if off Connex cancelled my first train and didn't run the second until half an hour later and ended up getting home around 10 past midnight and had a good hour and a bit to just 'reflect'.

Then to jump on the train and see it full of 98% Essendon* scarves and hats and their supporters having broad smiles on their faces with no Carlton gear in sight.

Finally having a couple of people jumping on the train and realising there was a game on and asking in excited voices "Who won???" and hearing the score again from grinning Essendon* supporters.

Yeah, I can definitely see why people choose to leave early alright.

I sat there until the end last night but only due to a scum supporter that tagged along...

...otherwise I would've left 10 mins into the last qtr.

I have no problem with the early departures that couldn't stand that embarrassment last night.

i've never left a game early prior to friday night, and i'll claim i still havent done so on a technicality.

I was ejected for fuelling the fire between the Essendon* supporters above the cheersquad who dropped a beer on a supporter below who was giving as good as he got in the back and forth slagging between sipporter groups (which is part of the game) i went peacefully and didnt take it any further because a part of me wanted to leave but because some flowers took the back and forth banter too far, i took it personally. . And by the time half of the cheersquad had left the game in the last quarter (including my little 8year old mate who sits behind me) i'd had enough and fired some over the top personal shots back to the Essendon* fans above. And when the series of brawls started with drunken tossers coming into the cheersquad and taking it even further, my abuse got more direct and my tongue got a little filthier.

I'll apologise to all those in the cheersquad for my actions, i never got involved in any of the fights (and trust me there were a few) but i said and did things i shouldn't have, and thats simply as a result of being suckered in by a bunch of wankers surrounding us all. in a way it shows disloyalty to the team for me to have turned my back on the match and the boys playing to focus on these low-lives and its probably what im most regretful for.

leaving early (voluntarily) isnt something i'd personally do. .

Hey Teen Spirit,
don't beat yourself up about it.
i was sitting next to some twice a year Essendon* game supporters, who didn't know their own teams no's. I kept tellin' em everyone was Paddy Ryder
Then ,at 1/4 time I said to the girl...wow..both our teams are great. We have a lot to look forward to don't we.
She said....'No,.'
What do you mean 'no' I said.
She said...'My team is better.'
Well,I cracked up laughing cos it was pretty funny... but by 3/4 time I wasn't laughing, and she had gotten drunk, and spilt her beer on me.(accidently.)
My silence was quite deadly let me tell you.
I thought our boys would come back, and I could wipe that smug look off her face...but no.
We left 15 mins into the last Q..and it was me that wanted to go...Badly.
Can't wait to knock 'em out of a prelim final...but please don't let us go against em again till we've at least got 2 of the 3 W's!!!
chin up 'Spirit'....emotions can be overwhelming sometimes...eg:Barry Hall!!!
