This is a season-defining game for us.
We have to win to jump clear of the pack from 4-10th.
Wallsy reckons we can only finish 8th (or that's how i read it) but I think we can finish higher if we beat who we should beat from here on and don't get trounced by Geelong. Our percentage is as good as a game at this point and we need to protect it in that one game. Mind you, we might yet beat them!
Back to this one. Lloyd, Monfries and one or two others save their best performances for the Carlton encounters. I agree with the post about not having a shhotout. They are faster than us and we don't want to turn this into a footrace down the corridor.
We need to have a high kick to handball ratio to maintain possesion and control the speed of the game through the corridor. Players like Houlihan, Armfield, Grigg need to pinpoint their passes or we will suffer as Lovett Murray and co run through as they have been doing successfully most of the year.
Our rucks are a worry. Ryder has a HUGE leap and will win more hitouts so we will have to rove to a losing ruck unless he can be bodied off the contest, hard to do at centre bounces but not so hard at clearances around the ground. Unfortunately, neither of our boys is big bodied. Setanta?
As usual, the midfield contest will play a large part and we have a better midfield on paper. Last time they all had a day off at once and Fev kicked like a primary school girl, along with the rest of the team. Kick straight and we should win pretty comfortably.
Us by 17-25.

AS A result of the recent announcement that Setanta Sports UK has ceased trading operations there will be no AFL matches broadcast on television into the UK this weekend.

The AFL is working to rectify this situation as a matter of urgency. Stay tuned over the next few hours for further updates.

I just hope we can tackle hard and make them stick. Far too often our tackles get brushed aside with abandon. Hopefully we've had some tackling master classes this week with the Storm boys. I want faces buried in the turf, but from side-on so we don't get pinged for pushing in the back which the Bombers milked very well last week.

For team balance would prefer Garlett back in if Thornton isn't right.

It better be an 8 point game. The Brisbane game was supposedly an 8 point game, but we only got 4.

Good to see lots of talking up of the Bombers in the Hun today. One article compares the Bombers to Geelong! Obviously the 60 point thrashing the Bombers copped by the Cats a few weeks ago was a figment of my imagination.

And James Hird has a feature on how good Jobe Watson is. Hope it works just a well this time James.

Me thinks Hirdy Jobe article a "make up" for the "Fab 4" drivel pre last game. I've noticed, Hirdy.
