Here's a good trivia selection for you over the weekend off (Boooooo!):

Which Blues have managed to average 3 goals a game over their career?

Clearly you'd start with Fev, who as at Round 11, 2009 for the first time in his career had hit the average of 3 goals a game, only to fall to 2.99 after 2 goals in Round 12!!!

So which Blues have managed it? How many in our top 10 goalkickers have made it? And which surprising players may have also managed it, but not managed a long career?

Gilmore anyone?

Soapy Vallence?
Bosustow?

Can I be bold and suggest James Cook?

Good work The Tyrant....you've identified Vallence, the only Blue in our top 10 goalkicker (ex-Fev) to average over 3 goals a game (at 3.5 a match).

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... oalkickers

Even the great Stephen Kernahan only (and I say only very lightly) 2.94 a match.

The Buzz managed about 2.5.

Any surprise packets out there?

for some reason I thought Hopkins played < 10 games and thought the 70 grandfinal would have helped his average

Blueseum - this is the most exciting thing in my life right now..... can you give me a hint if any/many others are post 1980 so i might have a chance?

Great work everyone - O'Brien, Vallence, Ralph, McKenna - all correct.

The list is:

O'Brien - 3.69 g/g
Vallence - 3.54 (the only top 10 goalkicker on the list)
Ralph - 3.43
McKenna - 3.27
Farmer Ditchburn - 3.25
Allen, Flynn, Cooper, Gilmore - 3.00 (NB Gilmore and Flynn only played one game)

Fev has a good chance of sitting at or above 3 for a long while, if not for the rest of his career.

We'll put soemthing together on this point for the site,

Not really - 143 goals in 48 games = average 2.98

The lists of those who've managed greater than 3, and those that are the best of the rest, are added into this link:

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-read_artic ... icleId=108

Interesting mix of champions, one-gamers and full forwards who didnt quite manage long careers. On this point, 3 of these 20 or so blokes are also covered in our 'career limiting injuries' series as massive losses to the Blues - O'Brien, Kekovich and Kennedy.

In the Jeopardy / trivia tradition:

Q. Which Blue has kicked the most goals in night series / pre-season matches for the Club without ever representing us in a senior match?

A question without notice for The Blueseum, if I may?

All Carlton premiership players are now awarded life memberships of the club.

Does this include Adrian Whitehead, a member of the '95 premiership team ?

Given the legal action he took against the club re his ankle injury, IIRC his life membership was either
''held over'' or not awarded. I should add I stand to be corrected on that point, but now the case has been
settled, does he now have life membership ?
