I don't mind that supporters don't like certain players. I don't mind when behind the comfort of a keyboard they write on forums that 'player X' is soft, can't kick, isn't a team player, is dumb, etc, etc, etc...but I do mind when individuals waver from personal opinion and sprout utter bullshit. Your sources, if indeed you have any that aren't imaginary, are sorely ill informed.

Fev always says if he could have one person kicking the ball to him every game, it'd be Houlihan. Big wrap for him given we have the likes of Judd, Gibbs etc in the side who are good users of the ball by foot.
What else would he say about a fellow Laundromat Musketeer who always kicks it to Fev?
Not sure how it helps diversify our forward line though.

If he became a bit more selfish and the coach planned on him to take shots closer to goal that could change.

I love to watch you play. :thanks:
Now get out there on Friday week, and play sooooo well that all your detractors go whimpering back in to their kennels.
You have more fans than naysayers...so hold on to that.
Also,I'll bet you don't want to go to the saints.
Why would you when you are gonna play with your blueboys on Grand Final day, some time very soon.

I love this post :gift:

I'm not a huge fan of Hoops... IMO, he is far too inconsistent. He plays well when the team are having a bad day... but I never notice him when we are all playing well... yes he is great at kicking the ball directly to a player, but I'm not a fan of players that stand there and simply watch (reaching their arms out, to try and make it look like they are making the effort) the opposistion run past, when they could have easily laid a tackle.
Huge fan of Joseph though :D

The good players stand out more in hard games where their team is getting beaten and in wet weather. Are you saying Hoops is a class act?

How could you not be a fan of AJ's? The whole football community knows about AJ.

If this is the case, Goodbye and good luck !!!!

Really gets under my skin when players threaten to go to another club to better their contracts. Why cant he say, " I love Carlton, and really want to stay a blue boy".

Correct me if i am wrong, but during the Fevola negotations, Fev always stated that he wanted to always remain a Blue Boy. This is what the clubs needs, players that want to play for the club. !!!!!

If that's the case, and we can get a good deal then its win win.

My guess is if true he's bluffing. If they are passionate about playing for the Blues well sign up, if not, lets look at the best option for the club.

He'll be at the Blues next year imo.

So I think Doc pretty much put the St Kilda 'rumour/lie' to bed and I'm far more inclined to believe him on these matters. Houla loves the Carlton Footy Club and there's no doubt in my mind that he is a part of a future plans. Bothers me that people have pre-conceived ideas based on past experiences that blinker their current views. Its obvious the Hoops was given areas to improve by the MC and its also obvious that he has been more willing to put his body in this year and his tackling has improved significantly.

Go Hoops - dont listen to the naysayers!

Regardless of the opinions in this thread, Houlihan will still be at Carlton next year.

Accept it. Move on.

Firstly,
thankyou Bondiblue.
Let's get married.
You obviously have refined taste, and know a great footballer when you see him.
Secondly, how is it you can write a questionable unverified statement..as in..Hoops wants to go to St.kilda..and then have people condemn the player for something he probably knows nothing about,as Dr Sherrin wrote.Surely it's absurd.
Can we please only comment on what we have seen with our own eyes?
Bless you.
love

I can't, but some people who use to frequent this site often and were in the know could back up the previous form.

Great point from London, Two Cents! No...I'm not Hoops or Swanny...but if you honestly think Alex McDonald from Stride Management sits down with Stephen Icke to discuss a contract extension into 2010, and looks him in the eye and says 'My client wants to go to St.Kilda'....it would make Sticky a) laugh his head off and b) show him the door!! Again...get real.

Your guess of the happenings is as good as Clayman info, unless you are involved in the actual negotiations, who really knows what positions have been put forward.

Definately not worth delisting. If something good was on the table come trade week then I'd consider, otherwise a 2 year deal for me as there won't be much better available over the next 2-3 years.

+1

He's got better skills than most young kids coming in and wouldn't be starting from scratch on the structure and set pieces.

He's looking for years, not money.
