If you think the break is a joke ... wait till every team gets 2 byes in the 2011 season. That will be a pain in the neck.

Get him I say.

Stop their super quick runners anywhere in the middle of the ground, let alone the corridor and we should win this.

Just as some say they have the wood over us, Fevola has the wood over their backmen. They still wont waste Fletcher on Fev.

Team who gets the ball most into the forward 50 wins.

We have to win this game...in 8 days...do you believe we have to wait that long to get our revenge on these guys? Crazy man.

While Fev is kicking a bag [hopefully] a another forward needs to step up.

Nothing worse than Fev kicking 8 goals and us losing.

Choke them in the middle and the rest should take care of itself.

At the start of the year we were still very much kicking at all opportunities and delivering through Waite and Thornton. That scumbag Davey just kept on chasing and although he didnt impact on the game that much, he chased down at least 5 Blues that forced turnovers. We have to be aware that they have these 3 super fast players and make sure we're clear of them, even if by making sure someone runs with those players to provide a handball option. Outside of those 3 without Hille they dont really have that much to work with. Is Dempsey still out injured?

If anyone saw the Brisbane V Essendon* game earlier in the year at the Gabba the lions did a terrific job of defending the corridor.
A teams zone must change depending on who we play. More blokes blocking the corridor making them chip it down the line and we'll be right.
LEAVE HOULIHAN INSIDE 50!

Geelong V Essendon* game also...a zone "across" the corridor...all you could see up the entire ground was a zigzag of Cats players from defence to attack in the corridor.
Essendon* had no answer and couldn't get oit "over" the zone as the Cats playesr moved across to pressure.

If we leave the corridor open and I see Lovett running through .... :banghead:

Can someone please email Ratts and Bomber and advise them of these tactics, because judging from our last outings against the bombers i'm not sure they're the wiser

+1

We basically roll out the red carpet for the bombers to use the corridor against us.

Seriously their gameplan is just move it quick through the corridor...yet every game we play against them they have SO MUCH SPACE!! Would think we'd learn by now.

Oh and realise that we CANT beat them in a shoot out. We need to slow it down at times.
And manhandle them in tackles...

I think we've always thought that we couldn't possibly lose the shoot out.

Hopefully Hawks/Ess/Freo game has taught us that trying to open up (all the time) can cost us as much as we can score. I have a "feeling" this has well and truly happened with the coachs, so I expect a much tougher accountable game style..more tags, more defensive midfield and protect the corridor.

I think he will definitely struggle. He isn't known for winning a lot of inside ball, he uses his speed and his opponent’s lack of accountability to cut teams (read: US) up. He won’t be able to do it with AJ on him, AJ has the discipline and he has the speed.

We won it for Juddy's 150th and Wiggins 100th last year.

Dees putting in a good showing right now, despite the bombers getting their usual comfy run from the umpires. I notice our old mate Monfries has scored himself 3 ticks from the umpires tonight. I haven't seen any of the game, so would it be safe to assume that at least one was more than a little theatrical?

SLightly off topic guys... But anyone know why Chris Johnson can't get a game? I couldn't see anything wrong with the few games he played early in the season. I'd like to see more of him in the 2nd half.

He was injured, out for 4 weeks or so, coming back through the VFL

Looks like Prismall has been injured. Ribs possibly. Went straight to the rooms in the last quarter against Melbourne. Was having a cracker against Melbourne too.

Matthews says it will be thrown out as not constituting enough force to be a strike, and I'd have to agree....
Stupid and not necessary, but not going to be weeks.....

The umpires I think have given us a sneak-preview of what we can expect next week against the divers.

I've got a theory though. Could the reason for our lack of accountability in the middle against these guys be because our players and coaches are too afraid to touch any of them out of fear the ump will blow his whistle?

I reckon we take them on physically all across the field, and if there are frees, and even reports, then so be it. No point losing for a "what if". If we're going to lose because of that sort of crap, then let's go down swinging, so to speak.

But we can agree that the umpires WILL rape us, yes? I think that's inevitable.

If Monga and Anus More-frees are playing?

Does the Pope wear a stupid hat?
