We're a better team than them but keep getting sucked into their Forrest Gump gameplan. Pressure and playing tight will be the key. Lovett must stink or something, he spends 1/2 of every game against us at least 30m from the nearest Carlton player.

I think it's fair to say we have a better line up (apart from Waite) than the last time we played them, and theirs has been weakend.

Last time we played them we were too slow with the likes of Cloke, Jacobs and Hadley all playing.
In addition we were quite "flat" with Judd carrying us and Fev very wasteful and the umpires gifted Essendon* 4 goals.
Yes Waite is a loss however Hille is also big loss for them.
If we play with good intensity for 4qtrs we will win.

Jamo/Bower on Lloyd/Lucas
Browne on Monfries
Armfield on Davey
Grigg on Watson
Banno/Carazzo on Stanton
Joseph on Lovett

We have them covered!

This is a little random,

but does anyone have the youtube vid/link of Setanta's video of when he fakes one around Lloyd?

I have checked the bluetube thread and have found the links, but the user has taken those videos off their youtube account :hitcomputer:

cheers

I liked our balance of talls and smalls against the Saints. I wouldnt want to mess with it. Thornton in for who is the question.

A tall? Austin Satanta or Hampson making way.

A small? Wouldnt want to drop a running player against the Bombers.

No change for me. (but cant see it happenin as Ratts likes thorntons marking. Hope thornton learnt a thing or two watching bower dash out of defence).

I'm not sure Thornton has a matchup against the scum...Jamison on Lloyd and Bower on Lucas. Unless we want to slow our ball movement out of defence then he shouldn't be an automatic inclusion. I'm not sure Aussie will have a matchup either.

I'm not sure Browne has the pace to go with Junior Diver on the lead...maybe Armfield will be better suited to him. Hopefully Army will smash the @#$%&! at every opportunity, he just has to be careful in the marking contests as the little @#$%&! will fall over and look at the umpire. They've been using the @#$%&! as a quasi CHF so Armfield would be the better matchup. The Scum may try to get him on Scotland to limit Scotland's ability to zone off and create off HB.

I think Carrots has the endurance to run with Stanton who is a very powerful runner.

Lovett will be crapping his panties at the prospect of meeting AJ in 2 weeks.

I think he will be hoping the swine flu gets him before AJ does

Is anyone worried about Simmo missing this game? Lot of talk from neutral supporters that his tackle on Goddard will see him get a week or two for driving him into the turf with arms pinned. When does chooklotto make their findings/recommendations?

Cut off the corridor and we'll win. Their run through there has killed us in the last three games.

Yes I'm worried.
It didn't look good on the slow motion replay.

You see, that's the problem with incidents such as this one.
In real time it looks like one action, but in super slow mo you can argue it's two motions.
The incident happened in real time so 'nothing to see here', IMO. Next!

This

It was so painfully evident sitting high up behind the goals that they were going through the corridor and there were no carlton players in sight.

BTW people please for your own sake dont get your hopes up for a thrashing, its going to be another close one.

The thing that will see us beaten is complacency, just like in round 3!
The standard has been set for the rest of the year following Friday. Bring that against those filthy scumbags and we'll win

BTW, Simmo will play, he has nothing to worry about with that tackle

Just hope the boys are still smarting from last time ... Ratts better make them watch the game as a group the night before the match.

That should do the trick.

We'll smash them.

It's the first time I've been this confident since Round 3.

But we'll smash them. Blues +39.5

Taking my eldest to his first ever game to celebrate his 9th birthday. Problem is we also have to take his mum and the 6yr old (both Bombers) :screwy:

God I hope we win - be long weekend and flight back if we don't...
