No love for Simmo? I thought he sparked us in the 2nd with his attack; I think he's getting his mojo back

Simmo was brilliant - but many of the lad were. St Kilda had 5/6 great players and the rest were shit - we have many players that played well but only Simmo and Grigg hurt them.

Pros
AJ, Bower, Browny, Aussie, Jamo and Setanta
Desire
We got angry 10 minutes into the 2nd and found out what intensity is required to match it with the leaders.
The Umpires. Let the players go, last man standing suits me in the AFL.

Cons
9 points.

Regards Cazzesman

Pros:

Our 2nd qtr was probably our best qtr of football for years.
AJ- fixing up that cauliflower Milne
Bower
Grigg
Houla for keeping Fisher to his worst game of the year.

Cons: Disposal by foot especially to Fev (gave him no chance on most occasions)
Losing Judd too often to the blood rule
That cauliflower Mcbierney- gave us SFA

quite a few pros but I can't be bothered mentioning them,

Cons - what Nick Riewoldt does to the umpires, people moan about Monfries diving, well he's got nothing on 'Saint' Nick.

Pros.
Our intensity has been great two weeks in a row now.
We will make the 8 if we keep this up.
Back half went well despite losing Thornton.
Grigg is all quality.
Bower will be a star, his attacking from defence...wow.
Browne really improving in every game.
I feel spoilt we have AJ.
Setanta...proving me wrong...showed great agility tonight and that pass to Fev was my play of the day.

Cons.
Well, it's just sad that the boys can't celebrate tonight.
Should have been a free kick to Fev right at the beginning.
I do not like Reiwoldt.
Murph searching for free kicks a bit too much for my liking....just a bit.

you mean like when they whacked him in the guts/tripped him or whacked him across the head?

The very same I think.

Again, I ask the hypothetical of what would happen if Murph was actually named Monfries

Hated that St. Kilda won because of their kicking goals outside the 50 :banghead:

we were fantastic...dont forget they had a full team in (bar King) and they were up for today...i wonder if we get the excuses like Brisbane did last week..
had Judd been in for more gametime, we would have won. Not 1 poor player. For those bagging Houla, how ineffective was Sam Fisher?

Cons- Stephen Milne was not seriously injured..Did you see that little piece of shit leading the theme song???
- Also, how many goals could these lucky pricks score from outside 50? and on the boundary line?

agreed, that is the thing i took mostly from the game.

saints arent going to get much better than they are playing now.

blues, got warnock, waite, walker, thorton to come in. more game time into the kids, our defense is developing, our midfield is close to superb, and even our forward line is moving forward.

i know we lost, but its pretty flower hard to be upset or dissappointed about it.

take out the first 10 mins of the game, where they got a few very soft free kicks, and we didnt get ones we should off, outside of that period, we win.

fairly happy :)

No, because the umps love us, and we always get a run off them, and any team that plays us cops a raw deal at every turn. The media and opposition supporters told me so.

Pro's : we have a massive amount of improvement in us.
Bower - fantastic. He was awesome in the second half, both defensively and offensively. Sign him up again NOW. Zoned off Reiwolt repeatedly to help out his fellow backman and stuck to the task so very well.
Joseph - what a competitor. And growing offensively. Will be a major player in the years to come.
Austin - he too is growing week by week. Waite's injury will one day be looked upon as a blessing in disguise as he and Bower come of age.
Armfield and Browne - their determination is starting to be matched with their output.
Judd - he is desparate to win EVERY contest.
Simpson - 3 times in the second Q he won contested possesions that kept us in the game.
Houlihan - I thought he'd kick the winner, but....he let me down. However, don't underestimate the value of his game as a defensive forward on one of the most influential attacking backman in the game - Sam Fisher (Bower is becoming our version of Sam Fisher)
Grigg = I thought he was very good.
Jamo - very very good.
Pressure - after they kicked the first 5 we were just as effective at applying it. It needs to be our weekly standard now.
The bye - the big Kruise needs it more than anyone

Con's : we lost another game we were good enough to win
under pressure now to hold onto our ladder position
Stevens - the game is passing him by very quickly.
Not many others - I like to look at it with the glass half full.

Pro: Betts finally given another go in the centre square - he won some great contested footy both there and up forward for us tonight.

Sorry db... It's my pet hate when the opposition do it and I'd like to think I am consistent enough to identify it amongst our own.

It's sooky and I don't want our players crying I want them to be tough and bold and just get on with it....

Say to the world "take as many pot shots as you want at me and I'll still tear you a new'un!!".

It takes him out of the contest once he dramatises things and i find it frustrating. Murph plays better when he isn't in that mindset.

Biggest CON of the night

Letting them kick the first 5 of the game and first 4 of the second half...

Always going to be a major uphill battle given the head starts we gave them.

Those two 5 minute periods cost us the game.

I recon you're being a bit harsh on Nick.
Had some important touches for us and did no less than the next bloke.
