Thats what happens when someone gets promised 3 games

So Setanta was promised three games was he Sydney?

Unless you've got a link to a quote, or you can name your sources; I call shenanigans.

Maybe Houla might have to trouble the scorers for a change ..??

A change from what?

Hoops is our fifth highest goal scorer this season.

Averages a scoring assist and a goal a game at present. Just a shade under 20 disposals a game. I thought the same thing when I saw budzy's comment.

Pretty sure Sydney is referring to the mid-week presser Ratts had before the WC game. He's taking it literally.

Jimmae, not sure how you could label Rhys O'Keeffe a midfielder and David Ellard in the 'questionable form' bracket.

O'Keeffe runs, carries and disposes. Not really a true minder of an opponent. Midfielder in my book. Could be another for the 'questionable fitness' pile.

Ellard has a list of names ahead of him IMO (although I concede you have seen more Bullants action than I have), and you can question their form. He does also have a list of names behind him. He'd also have to be elevated.

Anyway, it's a rough summary, and shows why Jordan was picked; slim pickings.

by that logic, whats the point of having him on the list?

same goes for cloke, wiggo, bentick, etc etc.

banno can still have a role to play and not every player on our list will be there when we next win the flag, but that doesn;t mean that can't and wont have a role.

Banno has played very consistent footy for the Bullants...he's on the list...he's 27...you'll love him if he runs off the line and flattens Luke Ball in the first minute though, right

Would prefer him to flatten that little cauliflower Milne

Exactly.
We need to put the best available 22 on the park every week to win games to play finals to blood the young players in the best 22 during a finals campaign.
If Banno is in the best 22 for this week's game, so be it.
Next week we might have to go tall or fast so Banno or someone else might go again for Hartlett or Robbo.

Banno has done well on the likes of Brad Johnson and Chad Cornes.....hopefully he can do a number on Hayes this week.

Some people really do just like to have a moan!

If Fisher was in the team, then Fev would still be our only reliable avenue to goal. Do we expect that Fish was going to stand up and kick 3 against one of the better defences in the league? Hmmm.... maybe, but I'd wager it wouldn't have happened. So we lose Fisher and gain a hard-bodied player. A bloke who has had a fair bit of success in our sturcture previously, who we know can play a role, and who can focus on a game for 110% of the time. That will do me in a match where we need to be up for every single second. We don't lose anything by dropping Fisher, and we have a bit to gain from Banno's inclusion. The team looks good to me.... realistically probably not good enough to win. But fingers crossed we are at least good enough to push them all the way!

Really like this team
The MC have been making to many changes lately....hence the inconsistency. Time to let things settle for a while.
One of the big 3 can help Fev up fwd, Eddie and Gadget man need to fire.
I've a good feeling about this one

Surely Banno is in to play the sniper and take out some targets............

Rather Banno in than Fisher. Thankfully we've seen the last of fisher as Ratts knows that they will run hard off him.

saying all this when we get belted tomorrow night i can guarantee Robert Walls will bang on about "why was fisher dropped"

IIRC, wasn't Banno Judd's guardian in the early part of last year? Ideal for that 'Tyson Stenglein' type of role.

My memories of last years match:

- King killed us in the ruck (not playing this time thankfully)
- Riewoldt was dominant until Jamison was moved on to him in the 2nd half
- Hayes and Gram were both very good at the stoppages
- Milne ended up kicking 5 or 6 (is he fit this week?)

If we can prevent these problems reoccurring and if our forwardline can function well we are a real chance. Easier said than done I know as they have improved significantly.

Agree. Hayes and Gram really stood out to me last time we played them - ran riot.
Bannister might be lined up for hayes

Banno on Hayes is perfect IMO. Hayes won't stop running and running and running, he needs to shutdown.

Banister to Goddard
Carrazzo to Hayes
AJ to Montagna
Kreuzer to the forward line .
Setanta and Hampson to create a contest

Run them off their feet

My memory was of Fev hugging, kissing and bum slapping every St Kilda after the game after Juddy busted his nuts trying to get us over the line in a last qrt comeback...

Wouldn't surprise if Milne doesn't play. he's missed 2 with a sore knee, they're 11-0, and a week off to come. Many on Aintsational amazed at Gwilt's omission, and he's listed as emergency.

Dont get bogged down with Milne... thats the small picture... killing off their supply is the big picture.
If we choke the supply and control the game in the midfield...who cares?

Plus he is shit.....the only thing you wanna do with shit is scrape it off your shoes after you step on it...

Just choke their ball carriers.. and leave their midfield up against ours...and just run the flowers off their feet...
