Agree Bannister is a good include this week but did we have to drop Fisher??

Also how come Heath Scotland is coming off the bench. Think he deserves a start?

My memories of last years match:

- King killed us in the ruck (not playing this time thankfully)
- Riewoldt was dominant until Jamison was moved on to him in the 2nd half
- Hayes and Gram were both very good at the stoppages
- Milne ended up kicking 5 or 6 (is he fit this week?)

If we can prevent these problems reoccurring and if our forwardline can function well we are a real chance. Easier said than done I know as they have improved significantly.

Agree. Hayes and Gram really stood out to me last time we played them - ran riot.
Bannister might be lined up for hayes

Banno on Hayes is perfect IMO. Hayes won't stop running and running and running, he needs to shutdown.

I'm curious as to why Ratts has been dropping Hartlett's name lately.
Would have thought this would be the week he'd get a game.

I like a few mindgames as much as the next person, but seems as though maybe time is running out for Harts to establish himself?

Fev will not be looking forward to playing on Hudghton at all

A pretty mature, mobile and negating team this week - fair enough, but leaves a lot up to Fev up forward. St Kilda is stronger with Milne and Gilbert in and Raph out. We should be able to stifle some of St Kilda's run, but looks like we're trying to match the Saints for body size and grunt at the expense of attacking options - the saints have a much better balance of class and toughness, and on paper, should win. They are a little off the boil, and our ins from last week should be better tomorrow night, so if we're good enough, we're a chance.

Hartlett not even an emergency - if Thornton misses, Aussie's in.

If tbird is 'sore' according to Ratts, maybe Aussie might be a late inclusion... ?

This should be part of the focus. They don't have anyone to run with these guys provide the ball is delivered reasonably well. They'll take turns up the wing.

Gee, we're lucky Judd Gibbs and Murph haven't missed games :yikes:

Really need Simmo, Grigg, Scotty and Stevo to have big games.

It would have been nice if we'd picked up a ready-made midfielder :donk:

Then I could complain that we didn't grab a classy forward :smoking:

Maybe Houla might have to trouble the scorers for a change ..??

The issue with this team is that most of our negating types can't hurt their opponents the other way - most have iffy-at-best footskills and decision-making. If the Saints can really pressure us most of our players struggle to dispose cleanly under the pump. We need to hunt the Saints.

Anyway can't wait to see how they go

Don't mind Bannister as an inclusion. Still, I think Hadley's pressure and tackling would've been handy, perhaps we're looking for more speed?

i can see banno playing as a devensive forward.

banno is a big enough bloke to provide a one on one over head mark when attacking yet solid enough to provide a good contest in the other direction.

i like this inclusion.

fish was pretty quiet last week and we cannot afford passengers. he goes to ground far to much and when the ball is on the deck he becomes a passenger.

Yep Fish just lacks the leg strength to stay in the contest once the mark is missed. For me the killer is that his kicks routinely don't make 40m - heartbreaking for teammates I would think. Is it a coincidence that Fish wasn't an inside 50 target after flubbing 2 shots?

Oh for a Ryan O'Keefe type half forward. Banno has similar attributes in size, fitness and can take a mark. Not so good after that point though.

Jimmae, not sure how you could label Rhys O'Keeffe a midfielder and David Ellard in the 'questionable form' bracket.

Banno has played very consistent footy for the Bullants...he's on the list...he's 27...you'll love him if he runs off the line and flattens Luke Ball in the first minute though, right

Thats what happens when someone gets promised 3 games

So Setanta was promised three games was he Sydney?

Unless you've got a link to a quote, or you can name your sources; I call shenanigans.

A change from what?

Hoops is our fifth highest goal scorer this season.
