He's starting a long way behind at this stage of the season .
Will take several weeks in the twos to get anywhere like fit enough for AFL .

Just because he's 206cm , doesn't mean he's a star . Far from it . ( Peter Street comes to mind again ) .
He has done nothing , like nothing at all in his AFL career so far to indicate he will be a great ruckman .
I really hope I'm wrong , but I seriously doubt he will have a big influence at Carlton .

Maybe 2010 will see an improvement , and prove me wrong . I hope so !

I can't say that I have ever rated Warnock as a ruckman, but that said, I also believe that Freo's midfield underperforms constantly and that even if he was a good ruckman that he would look bad in Freos team. Another thing about Freo is that they never invest in youth and so he probably hasn't developed as quickly as he should, so my hope is that he blossoms in our enviroment.

What he does bring to the team is structure. Even if he doesn't win alot of hitouts, as long as he holds his own around the ground, it will allow Kruise to go forward and provide a kositski type forward and genuine goal kicker to take some pressure of Fev.
If Austin can make CHB his own (which I think he will) then this will make our forward line of next year comprise of Fev, Kruise, Waite, Betts, Garlett/Yarran, Hoops/Walker/Stevo. This will give us finally a balance of Tall marking options (Kruise, Waite), Hard leading (Fev/Hoops), Crumbing (Betts, Garlett, Yarran) and Running goalkickers (Stevo, Walker, Judd, Murphy)

Shaun Mckernan would have been available at pick 24.
