Straight to the tribunal no doubt.

The match review panel ruled the contact was intentional, high impact and high contact. If King takes it to the tribunal and loses, he faces a six-match ban, but an early plea would reduce it to four weeks.

Gardiner shouldn't be playing either - how King gets 4-6 while Gardiner elbows someone in the head and gets away with 1  :banghead:

Ins and Outs:
no changes.

if changes have to be made...
tempted ins: Robinson or Austin

out: fisher

but perhaps best to give Fisher one more week.. or is he too slow/not enough upside?
not sure... difficult decision.

Need to pick the team based on match ups and if Fisher doesn't provide the right match-up he needs to give way.

Tempted to being in Robbo for him as he won't allow a Saint defender to run off him.

We need pacey and defensive players in our F50

The only bloke I'd want to see coming in is Austin, and only if injuries dictate it.

Fisher's chasing is much improved, really pleased that he didn't stop until the ball was out of the vicinity. I don't feel as though he'll be a liability so long as he can draw a defender and do some damage on the scoreboard when his number is called. Same goes for Carlos.

Unsure which end the Irishman might end up. Could (probably should) find Jamison on a medium forward this week. Bower to Riewoldt. T-Bird forward and Carlos back might be the go.

Grigg and Carrazzo were extremely patchy throughout the Lions game, and the way they tired in the second half along with Scotland really left us treading water in the fourth. It was a big call to play all three but it came off, just. They will be better for the run.

I'm certainly nervous, but my biggest concern is the forward line and the decisions of those kicking into it. We targeted Fev a bit too much last week. That needs to change, and not in the 'forcibly play plan B' manner that we've used this season; if Fev isn't open, we should have other patterns and leads being run and our mids should know how to find them. Like a good quarterback in the NFL has his first read and primary on a play, then he checks to his second, his third, etc.

Imagine if we had two genuine leads and a long option to choose from when streaming towards 50. No zone defence is going to cover them all. That's the kind of forward play we need to get going.

Leave Houlihan on the right forward 50 boundry line. He has a knack at kicking those goals... if the saints run off him they do so to their own demise!

Otherwise I think likely matchups will be
Carrots to Goddard
AJ to Montagna
Dal Santo will kill Grigg based upon Griggs current fitness and Dal Santos current form

Maybe bring in Bannister

Don't get to carry away with the win against the lions. The Lions had there entire backline missing, we had ours playing and Brown still managed 10 shots at goal. Simply the Lions didn't come to play

We wont win. They have bigger bodies, better tackling side, even across the ground and will choke our one avenue to goal up.

Im predicting they will get the jump on us and we will peg it back to something more respectable.

Why is it that when we beat teams, they aren't playing well, and our wins don't count?

We lose, when we have our entire runners from the backline missing, and the sky is falling?

Tough game but the Saints game plan is based on intensity rather than man power. Their talent level isn't that much higher tha ours and if we match their intensity we are a good chance.

we wont win. Brisbane weren't even trying. neither were Richmond, Brisbane the first time, Collingwood, West Coast or the Bulldogs. every team that tries, beats us.

We have shown that we have a habit of losing games we should win, and winning games we are expected to lose.

With Waite out (who has done fantastic jobs on Reivolt) we will be expected to lose this one big time.

They have not been playing very well lately, and with Fev back in form they are cherry ripe for the taking.....

No.1 player we need to stop is Hayes. He is their heart & soul. We can stop Montagna & Dal Santo but we could also try to stop them getting the feed in the first place.
I reckon AJ's pace might be wasted on Hayes so maybe Carrots or even Gibbs. AJ will probably go to Dal Santo or Montagna. Will need a strong defensive forward on Goddard?

However, we will have no chance unless we lift our tackling rate & effectiveness. And we have to keep it up for 4 quarters.
And it will go a long way if our rucks can give us first use of the ball...

Setanta to Kosi.

Bump and niggle him all day and smash him in the contests whenever you can and i honestly think it will affect him.

Robinson IN is a must i recon.

This game reminds me of the 2007 Hawks game where we won two in a row and there was a buzz about Carlton than we could knock off the Hawks......... we all know that turned out.

No doubt this is a huge test for us and will give us a much clearer indication to where we are at.

To beat the Saints we need a solid four quarter effort. We played three against the Lions, they had 5 more inside 50's and in the last quarter they had 20 inside 50's

It be great to knock off the Saints but i can't see it happening. I hope we put in a spirited performance as these guys have humiliated us more than anyone over the past 7 years.

Allow Hampson to take the bulk of the ruckwork and allow Kreuzer to play out of the square with Fev. Why not go attacking from the start?

Also Joseph on Milne is a must but for only a quarter - one quarter of AJ should see Milne lose the plot, get reported and subsequently commited to a mental institution.

Hayes, Kosi and Milne are the players that I reckon we need to curb.
Fev needs to beat Hudgton, and Judd needs to get support from the midfield.

St Kilda are looking tired and can be beaten if we bring a committed 4 quarter effort, anything less and they'll extend their run of wins over us.

In round 2 against Brisbane Waite was a key part of our backline. I am pretty sure he did not play on Saturday night. Can you name me a Brisbane defender who was missing on Saturday night that would come anywhere near him as a player?
The Saints will be a different kettle of fish and it looks like they have just gone through the motions in the last couple of weeks. At the moment Kosi is the guy that worries me and from our point of view Hudgton's record on Fev is pretty good. If Fev can have a good night and Kosi is quelled it will be tight.

Seriously you can have a crack at me all you like... history and statistics show that we dont beat teams with tough midfielders.

History also tells us that no team in the top 6 has beaten us this year (with the exception of ourselves).

That'd be top 7 if Fev had kicked straight from 15m against Hawthorn.

Gotta love statistics. :smoking:
