I don't usually pay too much attention to umpires, but I noticed Judd earned at least a couple of blatant frees that weren't paid last week. His honeymoon with umpires is definitely over this year. Last year he got 2 frees for every one he gave away, this year it's almost 1:1

The unrewarded tackle on Stenglein (from memory) was just baffling.

watched a few games on the tele this weekend and saw a few decisions like that which had the fox commentary teams asking WTF...

Umpires change the interpretation of the rules every week, no wonder everybody gets confused.

He plays for so many free kicks and then turns round to have a cry about it.

Its a cop cause he doesn't wanna work hard enough chasing the ball so he plays for frees then turns round to have a go at the umpire whn he should just have his eyes on the ball.

I do think that Fev doesn't get as many frees as he deserves, also I don't agree with his constant reminder to the umps that he should have got it.

I also believe that generally Fev is a VERY good shot for goal from any angle and any distance up to 60m, so if they do pay a free that was later shown to be incorrect that more often than not it will be a mistake that cost the team penalised a goal. This would be factored in when the umps game is assesed and so umps get very gun shy on decisions which could alter a game. This is also the reason that if the game is in the balance with less than 5 minutes to go that generally the umps put the wistle away and only the blatant frees are called and even then they are often overlooked.

There was one on Friday Night where Fev was forced to try and mark it with his right thigh as Glass had both of Fev's arms - play on was the call.

If the umpires just called it like they saw it - which is what they say they always do their wouldnt be a problem.

Our team make 10 times the mistakes umpires do but we crucify them.

I think Fev needs to take a good hard look at himself and accept some responsibility and he wouldn't be in the mess he is in right now

They do at times but no where near as much as we make it out to be.

Fevola absolutely LOVES playing for the frees. He is usually the one who locks the arms of the other players and pretends like he is being dragged when he isn't.

Just like Lance's 'back back into the man and get a free kick' trick, it worked for a while but now the umpires are on to it.

Better if he'd just stop sooking and trying to look like he is being mauled to death and concentrate on actually marking the ball.

Fev should take some lessons from LLoyd, Monfries & Kirk on how to get a free kick

you know if Fev had of kicked with the accuracy he has in the past he would be over 40+ goals heading for the Hundred and we would be 2 games clear in 3rd place

Logical, yes. But this goes against human nature though, and the umpires are at least notionally human.

In my line of work I should be professional and treat all co-workers the same when asked to do something.

But the fact is that if I like you, and if you don't give me shit about the way I do my job, I'm going to look after you a little bit better than the upstart down the hall...
